I called in the Jerry Springer show a few days ago and gave them the idea of a male with a tickling fetish coming on the show and tickling some hott chicks. Rita, who is in charge of show idea's got back to me 2 days later on my voicemail. She said she loved the idea and wanted ME to come on the show. She would provide the girls. When I called in I never wanted to appear on the show myself. That is flat out scary. I was pretty shocked when she told me this. But a chance to tickle a few hott girls on national tv would be awesome. I have yet to return her call and will later but I came on here first to see what you guys think. What would you do if you were in this situation? Being on the Jerry show could really ruin your rep and of course everyone I know will know I have a tickle fetish(even the ones I don't want to know). So im in a tough spot. Before I return her phone call I would like to hear what everyone else would do. Thanks!

I wouldn't do it. Even if I were supremely confident of my ability to withstand the audience's assault, I wouldn't do it without ticklee accomplices I knew and trusted. They're gonna get you the girls? What girls? Are they ticklish? Are they being coached to make you look ridiculous? Remember, the Springer show isn't there to advance anyone's cause. It's there so people can laugh at it. Hold fast against the producer's sweet talk, nobody there wants you to come out of there looking good.

From what I know about Jerry Springer and his show, I can only agree with eq. Besides making a fool of you as a human being, this show will ridicule the whole tickling community. Not every mainstream appearance is good for us. Don't do it. But it's your own decision, of course.

under your real name now more than ever. Are you average in body type?

Yaqi on stern was just stupid, springer is also a poor choice of venues, when people like stern or springer get ahold of something like tickling, they will either paint it as inherently wrong and deviant OR make it look stupid and foolish.
If you want to be a famous tickler, recruit wife/gf/hired model, grab a video camera, and post or sell the results to other ticklers.

The idea is good, the particular forum is bad. Bad for you, bad for the tickling community as a whole. While I applaud your courage, Sandman, and your initiative, to use daytime talk as an "out" for us is worse than useless.
A few years back there was a late night program called "Real Personal" dealing with issues of sexuality...I called in during a taping of a show with fetishes as the topic. There was no mocking, no digging, no condecsending behavior whatsoever. I only experienced understanding and a bit of curiosity from the host and his therapist guest. (I still have that among my mainstream tapes!) Real Personal, or a show similar to it, normally will have thinking people as an audience, as opposed to daytime talk, where sensationalism and outlandish behavior rule, and the audience is mainly bored people looking for just that. They thrive on the degredation of others. I would not like to see you as their next victim, Sandman, honestly.

Wati a minute. I think we're a little "hung up" here. I think the audinece might actually start chaniting "Jerry Jerry" during the tickling action, egging it on. It;s hard to stigmatize the action fo tickling. It may be easy to stigmatize the person who enjoys it. But as we all know from Yaqi's Howard appearances, it CAN pay to stand toe to toe with these people on national tv and just TURN THE TIDE. You can do this simply by being likeable. For instance, when they try to make you look like a freak by introducing you as ---- the tickling fetishist from ---, maybe use a little self-depreciating humor, kind of shrug it off like "yeah thats me- the tickling fetishist Jerry, yup". In speech 101 I was taught that this "disarms" a hostile audience. What I'm trying to say in a nutshell is, the Springer crowd really is "workable". Yeah, they're lemmings.....but they could be OUR lemmings, you know? Think about it.

I really do not see what the big deal is. I really can't imagine the audience boo'ing tickling. Could anyone give some examples of any scenario that you can imagine that would make Sandman and/or the rest of us look like fools? What's the worst case scenario?

2. The objective of the show has never been to make people feel better or to show people's interest in a positive way. He will be ridiculed one way or another.
3. He has never been "open" about his interest. Do you think he will be able to keep his cool in a TV show with people trying to embarrass him?
4. What kind of women do you think they will provide? He has no control over that. It sounds risky to me for him to show up and find a bunch of women who are not his type and who might not be ticklish.
5. Do you think he will be there just tickling for the entire duration of the show? He will be asked questions and he will be analyzed regarding this "quirk". Do you think this will be a civilized and serious interview?
And I can think of many othe things that could go wrong. I just think it is not worth to go through the aggravation. He can attend a gathering, be more annonymous, and have a lot more fun.

Interesting thread, so I'm going to throw my 2/100ths of an Imperial Datarie in. The Jerry Springer show is an absolute pile of pants. Good idea, wrong medium. However on the plus side, remember that Springer guests have been well diguised to hide their appearances in the past. Of course you also have to remember that the people were made to look like total twats in their disguise, which might reflect nedily on the tickling community as a whole. Definatley not something to consider without thinking about it for a LOOOONG time.

About eight years ago his show-the goofball format type-was out
of N.Y. on national cable t.v. Back then even Springer had some
variety on his show. But I enjoyed Bey, he was a fun host. Lots
of silly-sexy beauty contests. One Time I caught a 'Miss Sexy Big
Assed Woman' type of contest. Appearantly, It wasn't the first. The

That is the point. Jerry Springer has made a career of making his guests look like idiots, and ridiculing them. He is a successful professional at this, and you are a novice at TV appearances.
Good idea to get on mainstream television, bad choice of venue. Stay away from Springer.

jerry springer is possibly the worst thing that comes out of america. its hardly popular on british tv at all and is shown in the middle of the day when everyone is at work except the dumbass housewives, or late at night when everone's asleep.

i'll voice the decenting opinion here. i agree that the springer show is a puddle of diareha, but think of how it may make other tickphiles in hiding feel to see one of us stand up and say, yes i love tickling etc.
listen, if you go, let us/ me know the taping date. i'll get tickets for the local tickling community, so you'll have at least several people in the audiance cheering you! that could make a big difference, to the rest of the audiance.
