Contemporary authors

Hello, hello.

So because there are so many 'classic' novels that I have not yet got around to reading, when I do have the time/am in the mood for it, I always feel like I should be focusing my efforts in that direction... With the result that I'm virtually clueless when it comes to contemporary writers - or certainly writers that haven't been around long, anyway.

So I was wondering what contemporary authors people are into. In particular any younger writers that are making a name for themselves at the mo.
