Ross was hoping to be able to go to Toronto two days after the problem he had with his stomach.
Unfortunately, Ross had a badly upset stomach the following morning as well.
Not only could Ross not travel to Toronto, but he decided just to stay home from the office in New York for the rest of the week.
Ross perched himself in the guest room, so as not to get Kayley sick.
"This is probably a virus, teacher. Please stay away. I dont want to give it to you" Ross texted.
Ross slept, took periodic calls from John, Steve, and the office in New York.
Simply put, Ross felt like Hell.
Ross had only very., very rarely stayed home, in all the years he was working.
This, was a problem, that had really fallen him.
Finally , on Monday, Ross felt strong enough to go back to the office.
"Be careful, Market Boy. If you feel sick. Please come right home" Kayley appealed.
"Yes, teacher, and if I dont feel sick, and I can fuck you tonight, then you please let me worship your feet, stand barefoot on a ladder for me, and let me tickle you briefly tonight, okay?" Ross tried to negotiate.
Kayley kissed Ross. "Fine"
Ross went into the office, with the nursing company on call in case he felt sick.
Ross studied the numbers that Fish had given him a lot that day. Other than just getting over being sick, Ross had a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach.
Ross wished that Mister P was well enough to study the deal with him. Most importantly, Mister P was still recovering from the stroke at the rehab center. Ross wanted to show Steve the deal, but for some reason, Fish was trying to keep the deal a secret, even though it was part of the same company, and Ross did not know why.
Had Ross been well, Ross would have long been on a plane to Toronto to face Fish down, but with whatever problem Ross had dragging on, Ross knew that this was one time he had to give in to his body.
That day was not a good one for Ross. In addition to having just returned to the office, Fish was pressuring Ross to make up his mind about whether to go forward with the deal. Fish knew full well that Ross had been out of Ross's own office for several days resting up from whatever it was that hit Ross. Yet, Fish was pressuring Ross, and Ross did not appreciate it.
Finaly, Ross got so fed up that Ross decided to call Steve. Ross purposely called, because he did not want to have anything in writing for Steve to send to Fish.
"Ross, how are you feeling, partner?" Steve said in greeting.
"Weak, but hopefully getting better. I was able to come into the office. I need to talk to you about something, but Steve, please, this conversation needs to stay private between you and I. Please do not tell Fritz because we both just want him to just relax and recover, and please do not tell Fish, because Fish gave me what might become a problem to all of us, even though he told me not to tell Fritz and or you" Ross said.,
"Fire away, partner" Steve said.
Ross sighed. "Last week, before I got sick, you know that Fish was in New York, and that I met with him. Fish gave me potential deals and or properties to analyze that Fish says will be beneficial to RFS Canada and our whole company, that there are untapped resources in these companies Fish claims that they were not able to get at wells and or fields which have a lot of mostly natural gas, due to financial difficulties, and that such will help RFS Canada replace fields up there when we sell off spots in partnerships in our Canadian deals. I've been looking at these things up, down, and sideways especially since I was home sick these last several days, and my mind was not cluttered with other RossShell and office things. I dont know whether its the price, the fields themselves, that I'm not convinced of what RFS Canada would have to pay, and the potential return, or the whole combination of things. The businessman in me for thirty years, and what I've learned since I've been in the energy business with you, Fritz and Steve. I dont like it. I dont like it at all. Fish is almost.. pressuring me to up and do the deal" Ross said.
Steve laughed. "Good Old Bulldozer Fish. Tell you what. FEDEX me copies of all this stuff. We will not tell Fish of course. I will look at it all myself. I will then call these people, tell them who I am in RFS, and that I am Ross's other partner in the OKC office, and that the only way I will even engage in conversation with them, is if they vow to me to keep the conversation private between myself, and whoever I talk to, and not tell Fish. Then, after I've looked at it all, and have heard them out, I will get my impressions, you and I will talk again, and then we will both deal with Fish. In the meantime, use any stall tactic you have to with Fish. No way in Hell I will commit to spend a quarter to half a bil of RFS money no matter what office it is, just because Fish says so. I will tell him to do the deal with another company, or hell to shove it up his ass. Let me buy us some time to investigate the deal itself and these people" Steve said.
Ross sighed. "Good Old Gentleman Southern kind businessman. I love it!" Ross said.
"Dont worry. Just drop it out of your mind. Hell. Go take some work of Harton and Tim's and go fight with them. I will deal with this, and we will talk" Steve said.
"Thanks, buddy, talk soon" Ross said, clicking it off.
Ross walked out, went to the file cabinet, and just took projections of Harton and Tim, and started "looking at them"
Ross called Tim., "I'm at a stopping point with RFS for a bit. Without getting into details, I'm trying to deal with a problem with Steve while Fritz is in the hospital. Want to meet for lunch, and fight?" Ross quipped.
"Ross, I'm still your best friend. How about we just meet for lunch and talk?? Shun Lee, 1 pm, but be careful what you eat" Tim said.
"Affirmative, see you then" Ross said.
Ross weakly went to Shun Lee and bumped fists with Tim.
"How the hell did you make it in today? You look horrible" Tim said.
"I was just home for several days. I'm going crazy. As I said, without getting into details because I cant , Steve and I are trying to work on a problem with RFS Energy. Being in bed sick for several days did not help. I would have been in Toronto meeting with Fish was I not sick, but I really cant travel for several days. I hope that I dont have to go up there. Maybe we can solve it on the phone" Ross said.
"Okay, now to my business, which is why we are here. I want to go into partnership with a quarter billion dollar company, three ways. It will cost me 75 mil to buy in. John the account manager could do it, but I really want your okay?" Tim said.
"How long do I have to look at it and decide?" Ross asked.
"Thirty days. Its not that complex. I would say its a medium sized company in total. We've done far bigger deals than this" Tim said.
"Okay, FedEX to me at the office so I have it tomorrow morning" Ross said.
"What happens if you feel better and have to go to Toronto and fight with Fish?" Tim asked.
"I will take it with me and look at it at night in the hotel. Dont worry about Fish. That is my problem to deal with , not yours"
Ross said.
Ross went back to the office, punched out, and worked through the day.
Ross went home, kissed Kayley, who he saw was dangling houseslippers on the sofa. Ross removed her houseslippers, threw them off, sniffed her feet, and then attacked her soles and toes with his fingers, as she jumped, and erupted in giggles. HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! HEY WHAT THE HELL IS THAT FOR? THAT IS HOW YOU GREET YOUR WIFE WHO YOU OWE ABOUT A MILLION FUCKS TO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Kayley protested.
"That" is for wearing house slippers, teacher. Now please get up the ladder, on your toes, and then I will make it well worth your while" Ross offered.
"Deal" Kayley said, getting the ladder, and setting it against the wall, while going to a high step, and rising on her toes, as Ross's member hardened.
When Kayley came down, Ross kissed her.
"Thank You, teacher, for putting up with your crazy husband;s insane fetishes. Now you get what's coming to you" Ross said, leading Kayley to the bedroom, tearing off his clothes, and hers, as Ross lied down on the bed, and pulled Kayley on top of him.
Ross eased himself on to the top, and worshipped Kayley from head to soles. When he tried to put Kayley on top, she said. "Teacher says you can be on top , its okay, because teacher loves you to the end of the earth" Kayley said, as she moaned while Ross pumped away and they both came with a rush.
After they had sex, Kayley kissed Ross. "My lover is better. That was sooo nice" Kayley said.
Ross kissed Kayley back. "Glad you enjoyed it teacher"
Ross and Kayley had dinner.
Ross fell away dead that night.
He did not feel great again the following morning. Ross texted Vic and Ross said he would be in about noon.
Long before that, with Kayley having left and gone to work, Steve called Ross.
"Ross, I have the numbers. I know that we cant tell Fritz because we have to keep him calm. Unless there is something we are not seeing, Fish must be either crazy, or trying to pull something., We cant just piss him off and part from him. We need him for the current and potential future deals" Steve said.
Ross sighed. "We can try to be .. diplomatic. We can either ask if we can sit out this deal, and take no profit from it, whatever it is, and try to let him go at it alone. We can offer him for the two of us to take a smaller piece, or, we can send it to an independent outside source to get another opinion, like someone would do with a Doctor" Ross said.
"Let;s sit on this for 24 hours. If Fish calls you, stall him for 24 hours, or tell him you gave it to me for an opinion, and I am not finished analyzing it, and I will stall him, or we straight out tell him we want another independent opinion, and see what he says" Steve said.
"Good idea" Ross said, clicking Steve off.
Now there were two of the four partners in RFS, who were unconfortable with Fish's "pitch" and his approach.
In the years since Fritz, Steve, and Ross had started with RFS, nothing like this had ever happened.
What was the "hitch?" What might Fish trying to hide or rush? What would happen with the analysis, and approach, if Ross and Steve could get Fish to slow down to maybe let an independent person analyze it without just "flying into " a quarter billion dollar deal that could potentially cost RFS, Dearly?
All of those things would be seen.
Unfortunately, Ross had a badly upset stomach the following morning as well.
