Converting MPEG to WMV/AVI (URGENT!!!)

Yesterday I made the first tickling videos for my clips4sale store.
The problem is that for some reason my PC crashes when I just try to
get into the folder where the MPEG file is.
I then installed the software for my camera to my girlfriends computer
instead and exported the videos there instead. Here everything worked
perfect. How ever, when I sendt the videos to my PC, the computer
crashed again when I open the folder the files where in. Don't have
a clue why this happends. How ever, the video editing program I use
don't accept MPEG files, so does anyone know of any user friendly software
where I can convert MPEG to WMV or AVI and still keep the good quality of
the file? I found one software, but the quality gets REALLY bad after converting.

I really want to convert the videos so I can upload em and make some previews
for you guys. So please help!! Thanks 🙂

It's been longer than I like to admit since I've dealt with video conversion. I need to get back into that. I'd recommend you check out www.videohelp.com for some tools and guides. That's where I learned everything I knew (and seem to have forgetten). They also have links to the tools you need, including free ones with rating to tell you how good they are.

Son of a BITCH! Why is it so fucking hard to convert a fucking videoclip???

I have a 1 GB mpeg video (DVD quality since it's recorded on a DVD) and I try to convert it to a smaller size so I can edit it easier. No matter what I try things get fucked up. Eigther the quality stays good, but the sound gets fucked up or there is no picture at all and just sound here and there. If I try to edit the original video in Windows Movie Maker, nothing happends cause it seems the file is to big and I have to restart the computer.

Is there anyone where who know WHAT THE HELL I can do to fix this?
It can't be impossible to make the screensize of the video smaller WITHOUT fucking up the quality to much?????

I seriously need help before I trow my fucking camera and computer in the wall. 😡

I wish I could be of help, but alas, I'm just here to echo your pain. It simply shouldn't be as hard as it is to do these conversions...
