Converting VHS onto DVD?

Has anyone ever had a VHS tape converted onto DVD? I know it can be done. I am wondering if it is worth the price,and what kind of quality the transfer will be. I have some movies on VHS. I looked around to see if the titles were availabe on DVD.
They weren't.

There's software available to connect your old VCR to your computer and convert the output to burn DVDs that way, but the easiest hit-a-button-and forget-about-it method is to buy a combination VCR/DVD recorder which will play both formats and also convert one to the other. Hey General,

I bought Elgato Video Capture Device 10020840 from Amazon in April, I'm doing what you're doing actually. I have a few VHS tickling tapes in a big box that I'm tired of eating up closet space. It works really good and use it on my Mac Pro. The quality is as good as the VHS so it is what it is.

I kept my old VCR just for this reason, it's just so time consuming but I'll be very happy once I have all my VHS tickling tapes in digital format and on Blu-ray (more room).

I did this with the old Dazzle USB converter. Takes the VHS file turns it into a mpg and then you can burn that on a DVD. Much better stuff available now though I think.

Do any of these VHS to DVD converters allow for creation of menus? I've been thinking about doing the same thing as I have a TON of playboy videos, including a Barefoot Beauties video, but don't want the conversion to be one, long file. It would be nice to break it up so you can skip chapters and what not.
