Country Star Mindy Mccready Dies..

I dont have details, but I just read an article that said country star Mindy Mccready has been found dead. She was 37. Little information is being released.

Truly Tragic.

They said it was a self inflicted gunshot wound, and that she leaves behind two young children. I feel the worst for her kids. One has to wonder what would cause her to do something so horrible. I'm saddened that she didnt consider the effect her actions would have on her children.

Two things caught my attention: Her boyfriend committed suicide the same way just last month and two, she had already attempted suicide three times prior to this. There were definitely red flags everywhere. Sad when someone feels the need to end their own life but especially sad when she had so many warning flags that were seemingly ignored by those close to her.

Celebrity number 5 to die after being on Celebrity Rehab.

Pretty fucked up that a mom could just orphan her children like that. Hopefully a more competent family member can get custody to prevent them from being put in the system.

I dont want to hijack the thread, but to the point Mairead made about Ms Mscready and her kids.

My mom was a pretty stable woman, kind, etc. However, as I've posted before, my father was very emotionally abusive to her. This was when I was young, and a teenager. She told me that on some of those nights, she would drive her car to the town train station, and want to drive in front of a train, but could never do it because of me.

Again, not to get personal. To the subject of Ms Mccready, while her death is a tradegy, what she did to herself and the effect it has on her kids, now, and going forward, also makes me angry.

I wouldn't go as far as to infer to her as incompetent but something was terribly wrong. I don't know of anyone who would've left two children behind to fend for themselves in life, especially with one of them being six months old. But she was very broken and disconnected and just couldn't seem to get on her feet. Depression and addiction are blinding and take away all reason if not dealt with. Unfortunately I have lived it (not to her levels thank goodness), and know how it feels to be seemingly without hope.

I've been where she was and there but the grace of God I could've gone. So I personally won't judge her, but I really just can't understand why no one was there when she hit bottom three previous times. And did she had custody of those kids during that timeframe? Maybe if she got in a real rehab while someone took care of the kids she might........just might because I'm speculating......might still be here.

I don't see how someone who attempted suicide three times prior should've been allowed to have the children around her. Maybe the good news (if there's any in this story) is that she didn't take the kids out too.

This IMHO, is just one of the most incredibly saddest stories I've read in a long time.
