The only show on late night I really like.

LOS ANGELES – A few weeks after David Letterman announced he'd be retiring from the CBS late-night television lineup, Craig Ferguson did the same.

Ferguson, host of "The Late Late Show" since 2005, told his studio audience during Monday's taping that he will step down at the end of the year. Ferguson's show airs after Letterman's, at 12:35 a.m. on weekdays.

The move was no surprise after CBS announced that Stephen Colbert will replace Letterman next year. There was a time that Ferguson, whose show won a Peabody Award in 2009, was considered a strong contender for that job.

What will become of Geoff Petersen and Secretariat? Late night TV should go back to reruns and b-flicks.

NOOOOOOO!!!! Why, Craig?! He's so genuinely funny and an out-there host, that's what makes him so enjoyable to watch. His improvisational style and his interaction with the guests is just priceless, especially with women. He has a unique ability to make his guests feel at home, like old friends. I'm going to miss him so much 🙁

Easily the most naturally funny of all the late night hosts. I can't imagine him needing writers. He just comes out and goes off in whatever direction his mind takes him. I watch whenever I have the opportunity. His conversations with Shirley Manson from Garbage are classics and his monologues are some of the most hilarious I've ever heard, or "haird" as my family would say. lol
