Cricket cell phone service?

I just thought I'd ask if anyone here has ever used Cricket cell phone service.

My family had horrible experiences with Verizon and AT&T, and we're scrambling to find a new option, preferably one that doesn't involve a contract. Someone told me about Cricket cell phone service yesterday, and they claimed that for basic service it's okay and doesn't involve contracts.

I'd be grateful for any opinions on this or other services.

I actually had Cricket as my provider for a couple of years. The basic service is very good and when I had issues their customer support people were really first rate.

As a matter of fact, the only reason that I dropped them was because I moved to a city where they had no service at all. Otherwise, I'd still be a Cricket subscriber.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Ironically enough, I just learned this morning that they don't cover my area, so I'm back to square one looking for other options.

I'm in southern Wisconsin, and the three I know for sure have coverage here are Verizon (bad experience), AT & T (even worse), and U.S. Cellular (people curse them daily).

If anyone has any thoughts or knows of another company other than these three, I'll welcome any suggestions. I need to get on board with someone, but it's proving tough to find a viable choice.

I use Virgin Mobile. It's non-contract. Might wanna check it out!
