Hey there. Me again! XD

Well, me and the wife were talking earlier this morning about taking a possible holiday and taking a break from the "troublesome" months that have passed. We were talking about places where we have already wanted to go and then the topic of "cultures" came up. 😛

She has always wanted to experience the French culture. The wine, the bread and the romantic atmosphere. I've always wanted to experience the Japanese culture myself, being a big fan of Anime and all. 😛

What about you lot? Is there any culture you've wanted to experience before?

hello

French culture is nice, i mean i live here despite not being french at all 🙂, and i have met many cool people, and indeed there are some great places to be or see. I highly recommend you Poland or any other eastern countries. I always wanted to discover english or italian culture ... maybe one day who damn knows ?

I've always wanted to experience Japanese, Indian, and most Eastern European cultures...you can't go wrong when you're learning about another group's culture!

Have fun, you crazy kids!!!

German. I always liked Einstein, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Adorno, and Kafka (who was Czech but wrote in German). And many of my ancestors were German, so perhaps I'll go back one day.
I also always thought Indian culture interesting. I don't pay much attention to it these days, but it's a dream of mine to see the Taj Mahal.

I am fascinated by the Netherlands and the German-speaking countries of Europe and would love to visit them if I ever have the chance.

Hiya Buddy-bob!:flower:

What a wonderful thread!

I think it is so neat to experience different cultures! Being of mixed parentage myself the tasting of the way people live and what underlying facts and styles other people tick has always fascinated me. (I even did my thesis on it - sort of :tounge: ) Seriously though, I remember visiting Ville de Quebec once and being totally taken with the Franco culture there! I've always been intrigued by the African peoples too. Amid such unending devastation of Biblical proportions how do they keep going? It's a wonder to me. My relatives also tell me that in the north of Canada there is like a province that is totally run by Aboriginal peoples. Now that would be cool to see!

Many blessings,

Not quite a province... a territory called Nunavut, carved out of the Northwest Territories in 1999. The admission of new provinces requires amending the constitution, which--suffice it to say--is not going to happen anytime soon. But it is indeed majority Inuit, intended as a homeland for that people, and has its own legislature and Premier. 🙂

Hey thanks Brad! 🙂
Sorry for the mistake 😱
But I'm glad you clarified it for me! I'm thinking it must be an awesome culture to visit! 🙂

Many blessings,

There are so many infinite choices for something like this. So may places that are vastly different from one another. I've heard that Austria and Switzerland are beautiful especially in the winter time.

A place like Spain offers sort of a conglomerate of different cultural influences both european and arabic. The art and architecture alone would be worth the trip. Not to mention stopping in to see a bullfight.

If ancient architecture/history is your thing a trip to Greece might be just up your alley. Some cruise lines offer very nice trips through all the different Greek Isles.

Or if you want something really exotic, what about travelling through the south pacific? So many islands, each with distinct cultural aspects of their own.

Just a few ideas to help stir the pot a bit.
