Cumbria, England... The beginning of a decicive UK communication effort!

...where abouts is Cumbria? I never was good at geography!

NorthWest, Lake District.

Why not start a thread about where you live? Envourage any others that might be living near you to post and unite?

I live in London, which is...nowhere near Cumbria - it's in the same country, which is a start. 😛

I know where Cumbria is, seen as i used to live there and all...

My dad (who I hardly ever see, damn family) works at sellafield sometimes, if that counts me in 😉 . And I know people in Penrith and Kendal.

English culture is far too repressed.

There is a Uk forum, www.tickle-brits.co.uk but its really cliquey.

I proposed a personals section for people that wanted to meet up and everyone was totally against it, because they objected to the principle of people using their forum to meet up in real life. Even though they wouldn't have to post their details if they didn't want to.

As if any of us are actually going to meet someone and have a meaningful relationship with someone else thats into tickling.

Its hard enough just to find anyone, let alone someone whos part of a minority. As if people have the time to develop internet relationships as well as leading normal lives.

I'm pretty sure that the overwhelming majority of us will never find anyone who shares the tickling thing.

I agree with all the above. I thought it was just me that found the uk forum hard work. I also suspect what you say is true about finding someone who's tastes match - it would be alot like winning the lottery.

If you want to start some kind of personals meeting outfit you could start a yahoo group or I could host some kind of application on my home system here. It's only a DSL connection but I can't see the web traffic being very heavy.

I'm in the uktf and don't find it at all cliquey. Its not fair to say they are against using the forum to meet in real life since that forum has already got one couple married who met through tickling, at least 2 other couples set up together, got a full gathering held in London on with more planned and many 1 to 1 sessions too, all of which have been posted about.

I think what was actually said is that many women avoid the personals sections as it tends to be all guys wanting to meet 1 on 1 pretty much without even chatting much online first and building up a relationship. Certainly most of the girls I know who are into tickling, myself included, have only met and would only meet a guy if they could chat on the forums for a while, then maybe progress to messenger and actually get to know them a bit first.

I for one have a pretty busy life with work and social stuff going on but still find some time to be online and have a chat about mutual interests.....seems that is a bit of a negative post and obviously untrue since all the meetings that have taken place from people meeting on the uk forums 🙂
Just my opinions.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. Personally I think you've missed the point by more than a mile.

The UKTF was designed to be a "personals site" in it's entireity. It's like walking into an online club the entire purpose of which is to get to know like-minded people with the idea of one day meeting them for tickle play. The reason there is no board on it specifically titled "personals board" (as I explained to you at the time you suggested it) is because 999 out of every 1,000 posts on boards titled that are made by blokes desperate to meet someone vaguely female (stick a wig on a speak-your-weight machine and most of them would be happy), and most female members avoid the board like the plague unless they're feeling particularly catty and want something to laugh at.

Plenty of people have met tickling friends through the UKTF, well into double figures, and we've had an engagement and at least two relationships spring up that I can think of off the top of my head. Hardly cliquey or repressed in my opinion. Yeah, we're not as open and free-spirited as the Americans, but we've made massive leaps in the last three years or so.

What you see as “cliquey-ness” is more than likely other members recognizing each other because they’ve actually bothered to get off their arses and post to make themselves known. Such members are more often than not the ones who meet and tickle each other the most.

However, there’s no compulsion to join the UKTF, or to even recognize its existence. Just be aware that if you love tickling, live in or visit the UK and have just the barest amount of social skills that you’re actually willing to get off your arse and use, then you could actually meet someone there who shares your interests. There’s no passwords or secret societies, except for the board that is female members only and the board dedicated to the next gathering (which doesn’t actually exist yet – but will soon: it's for people who HAVE met and are known on the scene, not just the UKTF, but the whole online community as well as "real life" fetish community).

I'm up for jumping on a boat to the North West of England. Count me in.

And as for this expensive, fine wine thing.. As long as there's a few Stellas going I'll be happy 🙂

I myself am from Cambridge and as far as I'm aware the only member from East Anglia. My greetings to everyone!

(my first post - I've just been lurking here for a while.)
