I had a long argument with several people here some months ago, who insisted that tickling an unwilling stranger was fine, and sneered at the idea that it was illegal or that cops would ever care.

Since then, about 10 news stories have been posted here in which people doing exactly that have been busted for assault or harrassment.

I wonder if the people who argued so vehemently that they could do this at will have been discouraged at all?🙄

When tickling a stranger, one shouldn't grab them from behind. I will not advise that anyone tickle a stranger, but if you do, keep it down to a quick poke, or at least be smooth about it. Don't wrestle them to the ground and torture them.
amk714 has a good point about people who risk arrest when tickling. Perhaps it might be wiser to just fork out $200 and see a dominatrix. You'd spend alot more than $200 on lawyers fees if you were arrested for tickling a stranger.

It's more than just risking an arrest, WallStreet. It's tickling someone you've never even met. Unless the person loves tickling, like we do, or is very forgiving, he or she probably will probably take offense, especially if they think it's sexual, even if it's not. A dominatrix is all right, but I suggest seeking out someone who has a tickling fetish, such as a TMF member like myself. 😀

Lets see. Can the letters that spell the word Amazing be changed around so the they spell the words "that's kind of sad to spend your whole life in here"? 😀

No harm intended. In my opinion it is very sad to see someone post nearly 25 times, day after day after day. You know they have to spend hours heaped upon hours at their computer staring at the TMF logo to do that. 🙁 It's something to think about. Tickling is great. I love tickling. But there's a point when you have to not let it control your every thought and action, and every waking hour of life.

In that argument, most people were downplaying the significance of 'unwanted tickling', not saying that there were no possible consequences.

Where in the article does it say that the cops did anything another than take a complaint and run a routine check for other complaints?

I don't see anywhere that this man was even charged with anything, much less convicted.

I agree that this man should keep his hands to himself, but on the other hand, people who are "easily offended" are really irritating.

What was this woman thinking? Maybe 5-10 for assault? What ever happpened to 'buzz off, asshole'? What if he only verbally taunted her? Would that be a lot better?

Redway, the thread in question contained exactly what I said it did -- not argument about unwanted tickling of a friend, but people saying you could dupe a total stranger (i.e., a model) into being tied up and attacked against her will, with no consequences.

Try it, and see if the cops let you off when you tell them it's no big deal. Did you notice the story I posted months ago about the guy who was convicted (yes, convicted, not just talked to and let go) of assault for licking women's toes?

I really have no further interest in discussing this with you. As I said, if you're so sure of yourself, try it, and see what the cops say when they take you in.

U. N. Owen, much of that thread you refer to mixed fantasy and reality, and the "model" in question was a prostitute who got in bondage restraints voluntarily, which muddies the 'assault' question considerably.

Licking toes and tickling are not the same thing.

The condescending tone at the end of the post is gratuitous.
