Can anyone who's seen this show tell me why she's got a naked mole rat for a pet??

A: is kim possible really cancelled?

B: naked mole rats are so repulsive they're cute. also can pave the way for a naked mole rat porno spinoff, lol.

I've seen it a couple of times, and its actually the blonde guys pet. He calls him "Rufes?" (I dunno if I spelled that right). Anyway, this molerat has actually quiet an ego, as do all the funny looking animals you see in movies and shows. Think of it like Garfield. The Blonde guy, (Ron), and this naked mole rat are best friends, they both eat a lot, and they make up the funny part of the series.

I've watched it before and thought it was stupid and never watched it again. Do we really need some MORE little punk teenagers assuming to think they can get in other people's business and do the world a favor when they're still just punk kids and have their own little punk kid issues and school and all?

Whatever happened to having adults do the job? Where are the adults in cartoons these days? A punk kid is only going to foul it up and the only reason she hasn't is because its written into the script. So she's instantly capable even though realistically she wouldn't be nor that snot nosed boy. No teenager could live up to the responsibility that this unrealistic character is called to.

Whatever happened to an adult being a child and preteen's hero? Screw needing younger heros as rolemodels because they identify more with that or whatever excuse. The younger and younger they make them the more laughable it is.

I wouldn't trust her with the security of a nation or whatever the hell she does when she's just some punk girl going through puberty, trying to pass her classes, and discovering boys and having crushes.

Thats just stupid and the show is asanine. I wish what was happening in that picture was really happening!

🙄 😀 😛

the hollywood brother overall likes the show a lot. the only thing the hollywood brother thinks should be improved is the villans. you see there is this one hot tan cheerleader that is a slut who steals kim's boy toys all the time. i oculd see this senorita becomeing evil and being the true arch enemy of kim possible. also the hollywood brother think that most superheros need a arch enemy to make them look good.

Bittersweet and heart-felt.... I've never even seen the show and it had me concerned!

One letter off, big deal. I'm not going to pick up a dictionary just to make sure. 😛

I'm also just joking. I really don't like the show however. Its created by Disney isn't it? Its not because of that that its bad I think, but it doesn't help either.

I guess I'm the only one that's never seen it. We're sort of anti-Disney at my house and the only reason I've heard of it is I saw it on the tv at my sister-in-law's house (she lets her retard kids watch ANYTHING).
I have an affinity for ugly hairless mammals. No idea why. I'd like to start a collection. I'll get a naked mole rat, a hairless cat, a hairless rat.....hmmm....
To answer the question above me....The role adults play in kids "junk" tv is nothing more than the bumbling buffoon. One of the main reasons my daughter isn't allowed to watch that crap.

Its potentially irresponsible, especially if the child is particularly impressionable. I don't see cartoons these days respecting the parents/parental figures or putting any legitimacy in their roles. Sometimes they're completely absent and you never hear from or see them at all. If they look like morons who are oblivious, impressionable kids are going to think they can get away with alot more than they can because these tv parents are so manipulatible and easy, especially in cartoons. They let their kids do whatever and theres no consequence most of the time for doing something wrong. Theres no moral to the story anymore. I don't see the cartoon kids learning anything. The kid almost always gets it's way.

When was the last time you saw a cartoon parent scold their child? They're like "oh I have a headache" (as the child's bouncing around) and they go sit down and let the kid have it's way. What kind of a messege does that send to the kid watching this?

"If I ride my parents on and on, they'll give up!"

In this way they make cartoons TOO realistic and it gives agressive children practically a blueprint of how their parents work and what they can and cannot get away with. If they saw the tv kid get away with it, they must be able to and they end up holding their real parents to the standards of these tv ones.

I know its quite a drastic thing to say, and I'm sure these things aren't done intentionally when they make these shows (either animated or live action), but I think more thought could be put into them.

You know I double check my posts - and everybody's else. 😉

EDIT:

On a second thought, Vlad has a point about tv/games making for a bad example.

I noticed that with, go figure, a Square Playstation game, but I dislike it in western animation too.

Whyever kids? Why not adults? They are adults for a good reason, not just to lend money to their kids, and pay for tuition while they get stoned somewhere far from home.

...

Then again, maybe I've been watching too much tv.

Why make an excuse about this? You're right and you know it. The parents are just put there as props. They serve no positive role. Its like they don't give a damn what their children do and they bail them out of everything, which teaches them no responsibility for their actions.

jeez, I think people are reading too far, into a picture created to mock Disney for its 65-episode rule (in which no DC TV show can go past 65 shows for some lame assed reason)

For the looks of it, the people badmouthing the show, probably have never seen or have any idea about this. (I, in my mid 20s, watch this at times with my little sister, and two (female) cousins). The girl in the picture, Kim, is, in my opinion, worked like a friggin dog. The girl is on honors lists academically, head of cheerleading (which according to Disney, equals kung fu skills, for some odd reason), and volunteers (no payment or rewards) to save the world. On top of that, her parents (both genius doctors if I remember right) dont give her slack if she screws up along the line, and she goes along with it respectfully (so I dont really see the moronic parents angle at least for this show). Hell, when I have kids, I would love one like this girl.

Besides how can one hate a show from the studio that created Clerks the Animated Series?

Sorry to rant, but such talk (without proper knowledge) reminds me of that whole video game violence controversy back when I was a kid (I want to say 93') Dana Plato gets her throat slit by one vampire, and the whole world goes to hell. Jeez!

i tell ya, i miss the days when walt was running things. now there coming out with these crappy movies that go straight to dvd. miss the days of watching classics like bambi and cinderella and all that. and disney movies should not have sequels, it's a shame.

but i personally like kim possible, it's funny and entertaining.

I agree about Uncle Walt. Being the old fart that I am, I suppose it's unsurprising that Classic Disney is still my favorite. The first movie I remember being taken to see in a theater was "Sleeping Beauty," when I was about four. It was probably the most mesmerizing movie experience of my life until two decades later when, stoned to the gills, I saw "Fantasia" in re-release. (I don't do that shit no more, for the record.) I also treasure all the live-action Disney films of that era...Treasure Island, In Search of the Castaways, Davy Crockett, Kidnapped, etc.
But as a child I never cared as much for shows with kids as the main characters (unless Hayley Mills was involved...my love for her was an awesome thing to behold). I scorned teenage sidekicks like Robin and Dan Reid (the Lone Ranger's nephew). I wanted to be like the grownups. And Vlad and Nessie are right...I don't see much of that nowadays. I love my three red-headed nieces to pieces, but they have the most infantile tastes in entertainment and it's largely because of the fare that's available on television. (I won't weigh in on the subject of Kim Possible. Haven't seen it, don't know if the girls watch it. I gave up on their viewing habits about the time the Pokemon craze hit. Barney and the Rug Rats and My Little Pony Tales had softened me up and Pokemon was the K.O.)
In defense of the scriptwriters, though, if you are going to make kids your heroes, there has to be some breakdown of adult supervision in order for the youngsters to get into these hair-raising adventures. Authors over the last 150 years or so have solved this problem in a variety of ways, by making their young heroes orphans (Oliver Twist, David Balfour) or incorrigible scamps (Tom Sawyer, Andy Hardy) or by saddling them with weak parents and/or wicked step-parents (Little Nell, David Copperfield, etc.). Prior to "Oliver Twist," there were no major literary works with children as the main characters. For that, you had to turn to folk tales and fairy stories. And the modern equivalents of those are....drum roll, please...movies and TV series.

This may be the most rambling post I've ever submitted and I don't even have a coherent point to make. I'm tired as hell and I agree with everybody.
(I may make that my new sig quote.)

Sorry, but I do have "proper knowledge". I have seen the show enough to know whether I like it or not and I'll mock it all I like, because its a pseudo-typical show some teen saving the world or whatever like she's some secret agent. I would be a fool to not know what I'm talking about. I was being sarcastic about this show inparticular. I think you weren't reading enough to distinguish the difference between Kim Possible and other tv shows. You assumed we were talking just about that, and thats your fault.

I'm not saying anything about the show in question specifically as I've never sat down and watched it. The whole "Kid Hero Saving the World" idea is too stupid for me to give it any further consideration.
Kid shows in my house are rather limited. There are a couple of shows on PBS Kids my daughter watches (Berenstain Bears, Sagwa, Mr. Rogers) occasionaly. Rather than the usual line-up of sassy kids and retarded adults I much prefer my daughter's tv time be the more child-friendly shows on Animal Planet (she loves Steve Irwin).
It's not only the programs I find offensive but the ads run during them pushing junk food, useless toys, and Disney movies. Im sure most of you don't understand at all where I'm coming from but you'll probably understand a bit better when/if you have children of your own. The last thing I want is for my daughter to be the same sort of drooling idiot her cousins are turning into.
