Hines needed a bit of that strength when it came to a practice make-up session with her JHS theater class last Thursday, Oct. 12. Because the character is undergoing chemotherapy, Hines must wear a skullcap to look bald.
Students found it is no easy task to pile thick dark hair smoothly under a stretchy latex cap, which then must be custom cut around the subject's forehead, neckline, and (squeeeaaall) ears. Hines is ticklish and almost could not stand the poking, prodding and brushing around her ears.
Hines nixed their suggestions that it would be easier to just shave her head.
