Hey guys, thought I would treat you to a movie that was shown to me back in 2003

When I was on my first deployment. I loved Daft Punk, and like many I knew about the "One more time" video. It was a huge hit at the turn of the decade, got way too much radio play imo lol. But I did not know that the video was only the introduction to a full blown musical movie, ala Pink Floyd's the wall. Completely animated by the late Leiji Matsumoto (Who made classics like Battleship Yamato and Galaxy Express 999).


This is the entire "Discovery" album from Daft Punk set to a movie about these 4 characters from another world, taken by force to play their music in our world. The insane plot is set to music with a weird vibe as Daft Punk loves to do, and tells its story with no dialogue, but majestic artwork. It's a work of art in my eyes to be entranced by a movie like this, with music carrying it from start to finish.


I'd tell you to pick up the DVD on Amazon, but for those who are bored and have some time to spare, here's the movie in segmented form. Hope you like it.

Daft Punk is a great band. I love their stuff. If I see this vid around I'll be sure to buy the DVD. The concept behind the story is pretty cool. Leiji Matsumoto's anime style is one of the main reasons I got hooked on anime back when I was kid way back when.
