Usually cats go find somewhere to hide to have their babies. Mine decided to go in the closet and use the box where I kept extra school supplies for the kids.
Needless to say, the school supplies weren't used by the children after all.........

I'm sorry to hear about the carpet... That sucks.
Congrats on the babies though. I just adore kittens. Our mommas kept doing their thing under our bed so I would have to pull them out and toss them in a box, do a cleaning, then put down a towel and put them back...Stinkers!
I hope you were able to get it cleaned.
As for the kitten launcher... I soo get how you feel. We have some juveniles running around (and no, I don't mean the teen monsters, though I would like to launch them too! I mean the four legged mini monsters) and I keep threatening to launch them off the balcony. They don't listen though. So I resort to chasing them around the house yelling with a squirt bottle when they do something like... oh, I don't know... pull my panties out of the laundry bin and cart them into the living room! Little fuzzy bastards!

Her and I had a conversation about that, it seems to have worked.
To tell you the truth, I have been pretty worried, she HAS been spending a LOT of time laying on my bed, but she had them under the hide-a-bed in the frontroom...
I wonder if that was better? I could have at least thrown the bed covers in the wash.

That is why my mom and I use a "birthing" box. With our old cat, we made it up for her all using a cardboard box, and made sure it was cozy and private with old rags and towels, so she could birth in peace. Much to our surprise, she actually used it.

It could have been worse.
Our cat clawed a hole into the underside of her (then) owner's box-spring, and had her kittens up inside the wooden frame. Said kittens were apparently born with the knowledge of how to claw a hole on the underside of furniture and crawl within frames, cushions, etc.

I have to admit that MOST cats have exquisite taste.
Mine like to wait until I get my leather jacket on before they decide take a running leap and to climb up my back whenever I leave the house.
Apparently, my other, cheaper jackets, just don't say "I'm leaving you for a super long time" enough.
