Anybody else see it? It came out today, and oh man. Bane is such a badass, and Christopher Nolan is the truth. I cannot wait to see this movie.
Saw it in the theater and two words:
GOOSE-BUMPS!
Not thrilled about their choice of Cat-Woman. I'll continuously be waiting for her to pick up coffee for Meryl Streep.
The trailer looks "teasy" enough. But it just still concerns me that Bane isn't as brutal as I normally think of him.
I get the feeling I'll be VERY impressed with his performance though. I've seen Tom hardy in Bronson and I believe he'll make Bane a truly terrifying character.
But I just get the feeling Bane will have no real sort of superpower whatsoever.
I know it's more realistic...but I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see Bane punch through walls and shit.
Maybe I'll be surprised...
Anne Hathaway as Catwoman though....I haven't even seen anything but all I can say is..."Jizzed...in my pants"
There's never been a less impressive villain in Batman's rogue gallery then Bane.
Pretty sure I listed all the reasons why you're wrong in the last thread in which you made that claim. Those reasons are all still valid.
If he is so great, why is a fetching Cat Man his slippers and Pipe in Secret Six?
Because your mom wasn't there to do it.
C'mon, Slaver, Go bitch about Ric Flair or somethin'.. why ya gotta poorly fist't'cuff everything.
Not thrilled about their choice of Cat-Woman. I'll continuously be waiting for her to pick up coffee for Meryl Streep.
lmao ok but to be fair, if I had told you before The Dark Knight came out, that Heath Ledger, aka 10 things i hate about you/brokeback mountain, would be playing the joker, what would you have said? if your like me you would have scoffed and we all know how that turned out...im just saying anne hathaway is a pretty good actress and gorgeous I trust Nolan
It's simple. Cat Woman is Iconic in the Batman books. Joker, the same. Ra's al Ghul another Icon, but Bane, what's next Ambush Bug? Korastus would have you believe that Bane is some how Batman's "equal", and while he wasn't done properly in the "Batman & Robin" film, he still isn't a good enough villain to waist good celluloid on. Bane, at his core, is basically a coward. He blew up Arkham Asylum so Batman would have to fight all the nut cases he'd locked up, waited until he was all beaten up, and then attacked him in his mansion and broke his back. Now while that sounds like a pretty cool Bad Guy thing to do, in the next part of the "Knight Fall" story he gets his ass kicked by a 2nd string Batman fill in named Azrael, who I actually like, but proves Bane was a loser who got lucky once.
ST
After the first two batman movies, i am convinced that christopher nolan cannot make a bad movie.
Your cracks about Catman prove that you don't actually know what you're talking about, and would rather make dumb jokes so that other people who haven't read Secret Six might think you know what you're saying, rather than backing up your point with legitimate evidence. For the record, I've read Secret Six since before the version of the team with Bane in it, so you aren't fooling me. You haven't read those comics. The team is given their orders by a mysterious figure called Mockingbird (in reality, Amanda Waller.) Aside from that, they dont answer to each other. 10 issues into the 2008 run (Bane's team), Bane decides he is displeased with the progress of the group, and takes over as leader. So, seriously, your lame Catman references have no basis in reality, and just make it apparent that you're mouthing off about a series you've never read.
Bane didn't lose to Azrael in a fight. In fact, when they fought, Azrael nearly died. Bane's initial defeat came when Azrael put on a cybernetic suit and severed the tubes feeding Venom into his body. The sudden, massive Venom withdrawal crippled him. Azrael didn't have to do any work. Read the story before you try to summarize it.
Bane is Batman's mental and physical equal, and was even chosen by Ra's Al Ghul as a second heir (the first being, you guessed it, Batman.) He has a genius level I.Q, he is a master strategist, a brilliant chemist, and an expert in combat (he invented his own fighting style.)
Your crack about his actions in Knightfall being cowardly are just silly too. What about all the villains with henchmen? What about Batman himself, whose M.O. is to lurk in the shadows and prey on his enemies' fears before directly confronting them? Are they cowards too? Bane didn't just sit and wait for Batman to tire out. He, in fact, set up several of the scenarios Batman had to deal with during the events of Knightfall. He uncovered Batman's identity and his headquarters with zero assistance, and he didn't just break Batman's back, he broke his spirit.
You don't know what you're talking about. I do. You can dislike Bane all you want, but when it comes to commenting on the quality of the character, you have no ground to stand on. You aren't disputing my statements here, you're disputing established canon in the DC Universe.
