I'm sorry, I just HAVE to correct this, as a Frank Herbert devotee. My teeth have been aching for weeks.

"I Must not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear, and allow it to pass through me. When it has passed, only I will remain."

😉

I now return you to your regularly scheduled forum.

you know... you really ought to try a little oil of oregano for that toothache of yours. 😉

Thanks for the correction, Biscuit...but I chose to paraphrase the "must" part. As for the rest of it, I took it from the film "Dune" (the Sci-Fi Channel mini-series, not the crappy '80's film), which other than the one change is word for word. Whereas Star Wars films are canon, Dune is the other way around, I know.

However, even in the two films now made on Dune and within the writings, this phrase has been slightly paraphrased and had parts of it quoted. I just chose the one as Paul is headed into the sandstorm as it sounded the coolest. Gets the general point across.

Now go have some oregeno. 😀

Hmm...methinks its about time someone gave Biscuit a heartplug to keep him from being such a rabble-rouser...

And...the film rocked. I'm sorry, but I have this fixation about anything Max von Sidow is in.

DumdumdumdumdudmdudmdudmddumFLASH!!!! AAAAAH!!!! lmao

Actually, these are the films I was talking about. I have both "Dune" and "Children of Dune" on DVD, and they are both fantastic. Oddly, the line I quoted is used word for word twice...once in the aforementioned sandstorm sequence and again in "Children" by Paul's son. Several other paraphrases are also used. So, in essence, I was quoting the film, not the book. Same general idea. Strange, but the "little death" line is never used in either film.

By the way, does anyone know if there are plans to film anything around the final two books out of the original five? "Children of Dune" seemed to leave the possibility open. And is it just me, or was everyone cast in the major female roles a total babe? 🙄
