Dead Space anyone?

i haven't gotten this game yet, but after seeing some footage i'm hooked! i watched you tube for some videos on it and was stunned, never thought i'd see a game scarier than Doom 3, or scarier than any movie for that matter.

it's sound effects are unsurpassed, the gore and alien audio gives me goose bumps and i was only watching it. i could never play it alone in the dark.

this video shows every way you can die, and damn they are creative. my favorite is the 2nd to last one, with the giant creature.

Haven't played it yet, but it looks seriously awesome.

Thats one game i'm looking into getting along with Left 4 Dead.

Played it and beat it a while ago, fairly fun as the whole concept of target limbs instead of the main body or head is more challenging, and lends itself to powerful, singleshot/burst type weapons which i prefer over full auto.

Though it was fun, i must say the ending was something of a downer.

SPOILERS:

I can't believe they chose to end it that way with Isaac getting attacked at the end, implying he could've easily been killed off, of course i'm sure since there's a sequal in the works they'll keep him around and this is just a cheap stunt to build up suspense for the next game, but still it seemed like a really cheap way to end the game.


Anyway did anyone else watch the animated film? I found it rather lame, as it was more about gore, and didn't really add anything to the story, plus the weapons like the lightsaber chainsaw that didn't appear in the game were rather ghey. The comic was much better though, as it did help to better establish the setting and backstory, but the animation was pretty lame as it didn't even delve into characters crucial to the game, hell we didn't even see Nicole if i remember correctly, though i think that blonde girl on the bunk was implied to be her.

yeah the blonde girl was Nicole. It did help the story a little. I liked it. I think they will build the 2nd game off the animate film. the first game was good, I just hope they don't drag it on...or fuck up the story like Resident Evil. Though it is capcom so...

you didn't see the ending on Hard mode did you? the ending is extended by like 5 seconds, sorta like what Halo did on Legendary mode. at the very end when you think he's attacked, it's by an infected Nicole as she screams and spits blood in his face and then he wakes up and takes off his helmet. it was a nightmare. but still i woulda inspected the ship for stowaways. anyone recall Alien/Aliens? hehe

They can, use her Distress video like they used Nicole's. It is bound to get to someone who will check it.

I guess EA is not bad, I could be wrong since they never want to ever fix what is wrong with Madden. The son of bitches

^Nah, it wouldn't make sense, especially since the Ishimura would've been destroyed with the planet, being so close to the explosion.

Anyway, it should push the story forward, concentrate on Isaac again rather than create new characters and put them in the exact same situation, otherwise it'd get boring real quick, it's like if Half Life 2 just followed the same formula as the Half Life 1 expansions, I mean how many times do you really want to go back to Black Mesa, I mean i loved Barney and Sheppard as much as the next guy, but come on, let's see what the hell happened to Gordon.

Yeah and EA made that...so I would not get my hopes up about seeing Isaac again. I guess your right. I guess I'll give them a chance because of Half Life 2. But if they mess up... there won't be enough dead space between me and them...

^Uh, Value made the HL series, not EA, anyway the logical step for a sequal would be to return to earth, maybe confront the issues involving the conflict between the church and the government, and possibly discover the origins of the real marker, why it created the hive mind and necromorphs, why the government has it, what's it doing on earth, etc etc.

stupid look? when in game do you see his face? official posters and pics solve that, and he looks kick ass. and he has personality and all, but he keeps quiet so you can pretty much imagine what he's like. Master Chief never shows his face, Freeman never hears his voice.

Bought it about a month ago and absolutely loved it 😀

It's more survival horror than anything, really good game though i'd definately recommend it 🙂
