As Tim was trying to get together people he knew to help Ross analyze companies, Ross had a setback.
It was not so much a "Setback, as it was a deal that Ross and Ross's lawyer had every reason to believe was finished, and would be signed, when something very bad happened.
When the representatives who were analyzing some of Ross's companies were finished valuing certain companies in Ross's holdings were finished, they advised Ross to put one of the companies on the market for ten million dollars.
Ross was ecstatic. He immediately put the company up for sale at the $10 million dollar price tag that was advised to him, and agreed to sell it for a discount of 10 to 20%, or one to two million dollars, to be able to sell the company.
A mega company who was solely in the business of buying other large and medium sized companies, immediately called Ross, and offered him the full ten million for the company.
This company wanted to close the deal quickly.
Ross's attorneys met with the company's attorney's , prepared papers, sent them to Ross to sign, which he did right away.
The other company, however, kept delaying the transaction.
After promising that the deal with be signed immediately, they kept delaying the transactions. Then, began to come up with what Ross and his lawyers knew were excuses, going from week to week without signing, and or making payments, citing "Cash Flow problems"{
When Ross's attorneys looked into the books of the company, they knew that the company was lying, as they had plenty of money to pay a ten million dollar contract. Even when Ross offered to drop the price ten to twenty percent, the supposed buyer was still dragging their feet.
Ross,, his attorney, the other company's buyer, and the other company's attorney got on a conference call, to air out any possible disagreements.
After a tense conversation, during which Ross knew he had to hold his cool, and Ross's attorney asked the other company's reps a straight forward question if the other company was the buyer, the company rep and their lawyer said. "No" and abruptly hung up the phone.
Ross was furious , not so much because the other company had backed out of the deal, but. that the other company, had in Ross's words. "Jerked around " for so long, and wasted Ross's time, and then did nothing.
"Can we do anything? Can we sue?" Ross asked.
"I dont know. I would have to research it. It might not be worth your time. I say, let it drop, put the company back up for sale, maybe drop the price one or two million just to get rid of itt, and forget about it" Ross's lawyer said.
When Ross hung up the phone, he had to get away from the paperwork, but he did not want to go home, as he did not feel Kayley would take his problem seriously
So, of course, Ross decided to go to AC.
AS Ross was already pissed about the deal falling through, he did not want to get into any words with Kayley.
So, to be safe, Ross called Kayley, and said he would be "A little late" due to a meeting with his attorney, and another possible buyer of a company.
Ross charged out of the office. "I'm gone. I have to go talk to my lawyer about a possible company sale. Will not be back today, have a good day" Ross said, calling an Uber, and quickly leaving the office.
Ross went to AC, had a big steak lunch withdrew $10,000, and started playing everything in sight, dollar slots, craps, blackjack.
Ross was again losing, then hit a $10,000 dollar slot jackpot, called a car, jumped in, and went home.
When Ross got home, it was 730.
"Are you okay? Kayley asked , kissing Ross in greeting.
"Not bad, if you call a buyer backing out of a ten million dollar company buy at the last minute being okay, and it not being wise to sue them" Ross said, with a stern tone to his voice, but not yelling or ranting.
Kayley went over and rubbed Ross's shoulders. "Honey, I'm sorry, thats awful"
Ross tossed Kayley $5000. "To be honest, half of what I won in AC today. Kale, what would you think if we packed bags, took a car, and stayed in some fancy hotel in the city for the weekend?" Ross said, as it was a Friday night when all this happened.
Kayley kissed Ross. "That's a great idea. You had your gambling fun for the day, now let's go into the city, be pampered, go shopping, and eat some great meals" Kayley said.
Ross and Kayley packed bags, and went to stay at the Westin hotel in Times Square, in a suite. They found a top steak and lobster house, ordered huge surf and surfs with salads, and iced tea.
Kayley raised her glass. "To the man who will soon sell a company, and to us making a wise choice to lick your wounds this weekend" Kayley said.
Ross and Kayley had an amazing weekend, spending time together, making love, and going on a big Fifth Avenue shopping with Kayley purchasing jewelry and clothes, and Ross buying what was almost a new wardrobe.
When they jumped in a car to go home late Sunday, Kayley cuddled with Ross.
"Thank You for a wonderful weekend. We both needed that" Kayley said, kissing Ross.
"Thank You to the amazing woman I spent it with" Ross said giving Kayley a big kiss.
The next morning when Kayley was getting dressed for work, she said.,
"Maybe you should go in just to get out of here" Kayley advised.
"My wife advising me to go "Into the office" Gosh how things have changed" Ross said.
Then Ross continued. "I want to stay home in the morning, and just look some things over. I will be in there by noon, out of office by 6, and home by 7, fair enough?" Ross asked.
Kayley kissed Ross "More than fair. Have a oood day" Kayley said.
You as well my dominant Queen" Ross said kidding as he kissed Kayley goodbye.
About 930,. Ross called Tim Patrick on his cell phone.
"Tim, I'm going into the office about noon. I'm not feeling well with a migraine this morning. I just wanted to tell you that the company with the supposed ten million dollar buy of one of the bigger companies, jerked around for a long time, and then backed out" Ross said to Tim.
"I'm sorry, buddy, I had a feeling that was not going to go so well. Please just put the company up for sale again, and see if someone feels you should drop the price a million or two. Just get rid of it to get it off your head, even if its not at a perfect price" Tim advised.
"Good Advice, thanks. I think I'm going to do that" Ross said.
As Ross was almost dressed to leave the apartment, Fritz called.
"Woo Hoo, buddy! Problem all cleaned up. I think you should get dowh here ASAP We have some business to discuss! " Fritz said happily.
"What happened?" Ross said in disblief
"The other company has to drop the suit., They have so many other legal problems and claims against them, that they offered to sign papers, just walk away, and we can fix our problem, and get pumping" Fritz said.
"Wow that is amazing. I have a few things to finish today. I will be down there by tomorrow afternoon" Ross said.
"Just fine, buddy, see you then" Fritz said.
Ross finished dressing, got in an Uber, and rode to the office.
It had indeed been a wild, rollercoaster three days,.
One bad event, and one hopefully very good event.
Would Ross, Fritz, and Steve be able to get the oil company rolling again?
That remained to be seen.
