I love this country.


On a side note, it saddens me to admit that there are 4 different items mentioned in that article that make me wish I was going to be in attendance.
 
I expected to see Paula Deen behind this one, actually. She's used donuts for hamburger buns before, so this isn't too far a stretch.
 
You know, I honestly think I would give this one a try....Deep Fried Oreos those are amazing so there is no reason why this can't be.

I'll give this one the benefit of the doubt on tastieness.

Well this article is full of crap, my sister used to do that all the time. I'm not even kidding you.
 
they deep fry just about everything at theTexas State Fair. They used to deep fry a PB jelley & banana sandwhich. I have tried a few crazy things there myself.
 
You know, I'm up here in Wisconsin, and I always considered us to be the kings and queens of disgustingly delicious foods. (Beer, brats, anything dairy, etc. etc.)

This last State Fair in Milwaukee introduced the pinnacle of achievement in the culinary arts - chocolate covered bacon.

See, I don't get why you Yanks put chocolate on everything, especially lovely savoury food. They had chocolate pizza at Mr Gatti's[sp] when I was over there, and I can't imagine anything more vile.

oh god I want these. So many amazing foods have been popping up on the board lately.

My favorite deep fried creation though, are deep friend Twinkies.
 
here`s a recent list of things that have been deep-fried at the Texas State Fair. There is a actually a competition between food vendors to come up with new items for their menus.

fried italian meatballs

fried coconut coated pineapple rings

Vegas fried ice cream

fried mac n cheese

deep fried cosmopolitian

fried Coke....don`t ask me how

Texas fried cookie dough

deep fried latte

zesty fried guacamole bites

fried banana pudding

chicken fried bacon

fried jelly belly beans

fried S`mores

fried cake on a stick

crispy fried cantalope pie

just for you my dear

Fresh cookie dough made from scratch with pecans, chocolate chips and coconuts, lightly battered and deep fried. Dough comes out of the fryer warm & gooey, just like oven baked .
 
I'm holding out for deep fried Fisher-Price trucks.
