Defunct Fetishes

So, I recently saved back the attached pictures for possible use in the hogtie-thread down in the images section. Then I got to thinking about the bathing cap the model is wearing. At one time, there were people(usually men) who had a distinct fetish for women wearing bathing caps. It was usually an outgrowth of an unusual enthusiasm for rubber. There were even fetishists who had a specific adoration for rubber Macintosh raincoats!

It got me thinking about how a particular fetish could actually disappear. I mean, I haven't seen anyone wearing one of those rubber caps to protect their hair while swimming and bathing since I was a child way back in the late 60's.

So, can YOU think of other fetishes that have gone by the wayside. Maybe ones that could soon be facing extinction?

Robot fetishism - cos in a few decades it'll be the norm, and not unusual enough to be a fetish as such. XD

I was thinking about this for a little while. One fetish that will be on the way out in a few decades, quite sadly, will be eyeglasses. I have a soft spot for a lady in glasses. Between contacts and corrective surgery maybe eventually gene manipulation glasses will be gone in the future. :sad:

I don't know about that. After all, when automobiles came in, leather whips like the kind used to urge on teams of horses didn't go away, they just became a, um, specialty item!
