When Ross got back to Gerald Silver, Mr Silver told Ross that George was prepared to discuss settlement, except for one problem.
Someone, from the background.. Ross did not know who, but he suspected it was his old mentally ill aunt, and a cousin from whom he was estranged from, were "pumping" George up to continue the suit.
Amazingly, Ross's former worst nemesis, Tim Tazzio, had stabilized his life ., and called Ross to apologize for all the trouble that Tazzio had caused Ross previously.
Ross was furious. Ross's cousin lived in California, and Ross's aunt lived in New York with a female roommate. Ross wanted to have his aunt evaluated by a psychiatrist, and try to have her placed under psychiatric care, or committed, to calm the whole thing down. The problem was, that Ross had no cause to get official guardianship of her.
Ross tried to call his aunt to get her to calm down, and stay out of it. Yet, Ross's aunt, who was delusional, continually denied everything. With Ross's day to day responsibilities, and at RossShell, he had no time to get involved in another conflict. Thus, Ross's cousin and aunt could continually steam George up, about how "bad" Ross was, and how much of a troublemaker he was. Thus, what looked like a situation which would hopefully be settled, would now potentially spiral out of control.
Ross came home one night, and looked almost, .. defeated.
We would have been out of this, Kale. I think George was prepared to settle. Yet, old mental case and my fat fuck useless cousin, might just cause me one of the worst problems in business that I've ever had. You know that I am never a physically violent person, but I swear that I want to tear them both apart. Gerry said he has to try to think about this. Tim Tazzio and Tim Patrick and maybe Alan Hell, are going to try to recommend other lawyers to surround the old bitch and her son who is inflated in both mind and body ,but, I now could have two serious problems, or one problem that energized the other problem. Fuck! I dont know what to do!" Ross said.
"Try to see if those you know, between Silver, Tim, and Alan Hell, can energize your case. Ross, please you had such a good and productive trip to OKC. Dont let the situation get so far out of the control where you will not be able to work, and you will get sick. You will figure a way out of this" Kayley said.
"Kale. you know how much I loved Shelley, my mother, to the end of the earth, but she was always so misguided about just how selfish and evil her sister is and was. I saw this about my aunt from the time I was a teenager. I tried to explain this to my mother, but she never listened." Ross said.
Ross would go into the office every day, and pick at projects almost in a zombie like fashion. Luckily he had a huge staff to do the work in the trenches, and satisfy the clients. Yet, he kept having thoughts of drastic changes, whatever those changes were.
"I could get an attorney and give them power of attorney, and hire an acting CEO, take a thirty day break, go into treatment, and unscrew my head. With the obligations I have, that could lead me down a very, very dangerous road. " Ross said.
Ross did not want to give up the ghost, and still wanted to fight George tooth and nail, whether Ross's aunt and or cousin energized George's case or not. Ross did not want to walk away from a one hundred or more million dollar company, but this new development, could cause obstacles and legal battles, that would change what might have been a quick settlement, into months and even years of a free for all.
Then there was the issue that Ross had to be in OKC within thirty days to live up to his promise to Fritz, and continue to proceed forth with doing deals with Fritz, Steve, and RFS. Now, with this new problem, how could Ross justify having to take a leave of absence from his main obligation, RossShell, but still be able to fly off to do deals worth millions of dollars to dozens to hundreds of investors in his other main business, an energy company?
Ross had every emotion, Fury, sadness, defeat, hate, anything he could think of.
Would there be a way for Ross to head off his aunt and cousin;s crazed vendetta, to be able to calm George down, and get the whole MIA thing back to a straight deal involving a negotiation of money, or would it turn into that, and an unneeded emotional upheaval as well.
Ross had so much on his plate. The whole situation seemed like a TNT machine that was ready to explode?
How could Ross, Silver, anyone, figure a way out of this, to calm it down, so Ross could get back to the original goal of getting MIA from George, even if it was just a controlling interest with a person to oversee Ross's interests? Or was that possible now with this new development?
That would all be seen.
