'ey.
So, in Real Life I'm a professional game developer, and I've always got a folder full of side projects that I bounce over to whenever I need to reset my brain and take a break from my existing work. The idea of doing visual novels has intrigued me for a while and I've gotten pretty competent with RenPy, so after spending a little too much time binging Markiplier's playthroughs of various dating sims I thought that it might be interesting to make one myself. I'm a good writer and photographer, and the biggest time sink beyond writing - that of creating art and music - is basically a non-issue. Then I got to thinking, since most of the photogenic people I know are my stable of tickle models, why don't I do a Sole Mates-themed dating sim feet-uring some of my more popular ladies?
I've already started fleshing out the primary plot - that being, that you're The Protagonist and you have a foot fetish. You've just gotten out of a shitty relationship with someone who didn't support your preferences (SELF-INSERT ALERT WOOP WOOP) and have decided to get back on the horse, so to speak.
What I don't want to do is just have a bunch of lengthy "where do u tk her next" scenes. The plot is going to revolve more around navigating trying to date in today's world with this added complication, and although I don't have any hangups about it myself, I thought I'd throw in some "journey of self-discovery" themes regarding acceptance and all that good stuff.
Now, with all of that said, I'd like to open the floor to you guys (and gals). Given the constraints in mind (also that this would strictly be a mostly foot-focused, */F-themed game) - would this be something you'd play? (...and if you're already gearing up to say "no thanks I only consume */M content" or whatever, save your calories; I get it.) What would make it interesting to you? Can you think of any feet-ures or gameplay mechanics I might want to use? Are visual novels pointless and I should just finish my damn surf album already?
Tell me ur thinks.
