When Ross got back to New York he went right back to work on the usual monthly account work for Dave Banner, Larry, and Tim.
While Ross knew that he had to focus on his daily work, his mind was becoming increasingly distracted by the situation of the forensic company, and the dissection and recommendations of what exactly Ross should do regarding RossShell
Ross knew in the bottom of his gut, that he had to keep these thoughts to himself, and act as normally as possible, as any change in his attitude or reverting in his behavior to any of his past obsessions with work, RossShell, or whatever companies he was involved in would cause World War Three with Kayley, which was a personal and business risk he could not afford to have, and would cost him dearly in every way.
When Ross was reading papers in bed one night, even though he was coming home at his promised time, spending plenty of time with Kayley, and never discussing his thoughts about work and the company sell off. Kayley knew her husband sometimes better than she knew herself. She made a :"Comment"
"Ross, I appreciate how you have not changed your behavior toward us, our relationship, and me, but I know you better than I know myself. I know all of this with the company sell off is on your mind often" Kayley said.
Ross sighed. "Kale,. I am going to say this very calmly. I have not at all changed my behavior toward you, our relationship, or any of the promises I made you in regard to us spending time together. I'm a human being, Kayley, not a robot. I cannot control that I am concerned about things with work and the major process of dissecting and selling off assets of RossShell. As long as I don't break promises in our relationship that I've made to you, I would really appreciate you please giving me a bit of leeway here" Ross said, very calmly.
Kayley kissed Ross: "Okay, I''m sorry. I don't want to start a snippiness between us. I personally love the calm relations between us. Forget about our relationship. I'm very concerned about you, baby. I do not want this to affect your sleep, your mood, and your health, does that make me a bad wife?" Kayley said.
"No, it does not, Kale, it makes you a very good wife. I'm more, impatient, than I am obsessed. I just wish I could get this process over with, sell off whatever assets or accounts I'm advised to, scale down RossShell to what we agreed on,. and get back to work. I guess I'm also pissed about the deal that Fritz, Stevem and me made for the oil and gas company cleanup, but I know that was beyond our control, and just an unfortunate accident, and something that happens in business" Ross said.,
Ross and Kayley kissed each other goodnight, and went to sleep.
The next morning, Ross left for the office about 8, getting in at 845. The new larger office was now ready, and Ross knew that Ross and Vic had to begin interviewing new potential employees. The office and the company was and would not be nearly as big, and the office not nearly as large as the former RossShell, but it would be larger than where Ross and his current people were working in what would now become their former office.
Later, during that work day, Ross got a pleasant surprise phone call from the people who were going off RossShell's accounts and assets.
"Ross, if you could come here tomorrow or the next day, we would like you to please look over the paper work we prepared, and any suggestions, and approve or disapprove of any suggestions. We might be ready to move to sell, depending on what you say.," Ross's representative said.
"I will be over there tomorrow morning or afternoon" Ross said.
Ross took a deep breath, and tried to calm down. He did paperwork that day, and left the office exactly at 5.
"I want to get out of here. I want to get home early and relax. Tomorrow may be a major day" Ross said.
"Okay, goodnight Ross" Vic said.
After jumping in an Uber, Ross walked in the door before 6.
"Beautiful. You are becoming the model husband for coming home at a decent hour" Kayley said, giving Ross a big smooch on the lips.
"Kale, I had to get the Hell out of there. Nothing that was happening there today, is as important as what could or will happen going forward" Ross said, getting undressed.
"Let me guess, the forensic people told you they finished their work going through RossShell's assets, and they want to talk to you about specifics" Kayley said.
Ross gave a big sigh, as he took an iced tea from the fridge and drank it.
"Honey, I know it does not really matter what RossShell looks like in the relative scheme of things. I'm getting a good compromise. I'm enlarging the company and the office, and keeping our relationship as my priority, and yet.."
"Yet, you are very.. apprehensive" Kayley said.
"Yes, of course" Ross replied.
"Honey, you said it yourself, nothing this firm says is final. If you don't like any of their suggestions, discuss it with them If they still say sell, and you are firm or sure you dont want to, then you can keep a few accounts and make that your decision" Kayley said.
Kayley and Ross had dinner, went to bed, and Ross awakened in the middle of the night, and had a problem falling back to sleep.
What would the forensic people's sell off recommendations be? What would Ross's reaction and final decision be to those recommendations?
That remained to be seen.
