I saw this story on a tech show called "The Screen Savers":

"MTV reports that a Lucasfilm representative has confirmed the vicious rumor that several members of the boy band NSync have been given bit parts as extras in the upcoming blockbuster."

What is Lucas trying to do? Did his daughters (I'm just assuming he has some) make him do it?

I think I speak for everyone in this forum when I say "What the shit?!?" Are these guys gonna be a part of everything that goes on in the entertainment world? It's bad enough that they were on the Super Bowl halftime show, now this.:sowrong: :sowrong: :sowrong:

I hear that this year, Nsync will be playing IN the Superbowl.....and in the Olympics as well. This is before they shuttle to Mars and come up with a cure for the common cold!

nobody believed me when i said jar jar binks was a sign that george lucas was going senile. i rest my case. lets not panic yet tho...way back when, another rumor was that leonerdo decraprio was going to play anakin skywalker in episode 2. thankfully that abomination proved to be false. maybe this one will to. wouldnt be the first time mtv was wrong. one the other hand there may be some crazed teen dark jedi holding her lightsaber to georges throat. pray that the jedi council wont be replaced by the backstreet boys in episode 3. wait...i think darth vaders gonna wipe out the council in episode 3...ok..the backstreet boys would be a good choice then.

Rumours abounded right before Episode I was released, curiously also "discovered" by MTV. Even if they ARE in it, it's most likely as faceless extras. My guess would be in the Coruscant "Nightclub" scenes.

George Lucas may be a bit odd, but if there's one thing that he IS, it's stoicly true to his vision. He wouldn't put ANYONE in a Star Wars film for the sole purpose of creating a buzz. One, he doesn't need to. Two, he's kind of "anti-buzz" anyway.

Of course, selective elimination (proactive defense, of course) of the little lads might be helpful.

(I have GOT to stop skirting the Dark Side like this...😎 )

N'sync in Star Wars? nah, cant be true. even if they were, it would be a cameo or such. they wouldnt have any significant role. anyway, what does it matter? to all the people who complain about Jar-Jar and George Lucas is going senile cracks, JUST ENJOY THE MOVIE. Lucas is going to write what he wants to write, who he wants to put in his movie and so on and so forth. if you dont like it, dont watch the movie. i am more excited on how the STORY is going to play out, rather than who's acting in it. that's what this trilogy is about. STORY. i'm pretty sure people were mad that Mark Hamill was Luke. but who really cared? why people are getting worked up over actors is beyond me.

HAHAHA!!!

Don't worry guys, I read they are only in it breifly as some jedi knights in a major battle AND THEN they get blasted away by an advanced battle droid. HA HA HA HA. Seeing that won't be so bad. What do you think?

Yeah, if they are in it it's probably just a cameo thing, then they die... I'm not worried. Just one more way for Lucas/20th Centruy Fox to lure in the new generation of Star Wars fans along with the original fans of '77. Really, besides his being a good actor, the only reason Samuel L. Jackson got into the series recently was because he was such a fan of the 1st films and he asked/begged to be involved. I'll bet that's how N'Sync got in.

As far as Jar Jar goes, I think Lucas stuck himself in a difficult place.... he needed something that was light and humourous, but he didn't have the banter of R2D2 and C3PO, nor did he have the interpaly of Han and Chewbacca, so he needed some other sort of vehicle for humor... plus, he wanted to showcase the talent of the special effects crew, putting in a chracter to act with the other characters that wasn't even there.... finally, the humor of Jar Jar was rather sophmoric because I guess the newer generation of Star Wars fans ( ie, "kids today" ) are into that type of humor (plus it was his character, the clumsy siliness, that got him banned from his homeland). I think Lucas pulled all these loose ends together with Jar Jar and unfortuneatly it didn't go too smoothly.... but, keeping those things in mind, I have far more tolernace for Jar Jar than for the overacting of Jake Lloyd as Anakin, especially after seeing Hailey Joel Osmeth (from 6th Sense) and the little kid from Stir of Echos doing such great jobs that same year!

I've also been informed that Wilson the volleyball will have a major role in the upcoming Star Wars movie.

I've also heard that Kenny of South Park fame will make a brief appearance. Of course he will die. I think Jabba the Hut accidentally sits on him or something.

Oh, you ARE the sly one, Pirate!😀

I have to agree with Oddjob on the Jar-Jar thing. I think that, at least in the media, people just jump on the Jar-Jar bashing bandwagon for lack of any deeper insight. The characters have always been far less important than the story itself.

Critics tend to be people who are failed participants in their chosen field. It's easy to be a critic, hard to actually do something. Critics have slammed Star Wars since '77, but it hasn't kept the Saga from being the #2,3,4 and 5 top-grossing films of all time. I find it hard to believe that all of these people would dole out 8 or 9 bucks a shot if word of mouth got out that they sucked. And it's not just the ole "Sci-Fi geek" excuse either. If that were the case, why do we not see people camping out for days trying to get tickets when a new Star Trek movie opens? And Trekkies are just as passionate about their chosen likes as us Star Wars fans are. Hell, even the Matrix lines weren't all that big. Bigger than most, but nothing like the Event that the opening of a Star Wars film is. Star Wars trancends "Sci-Fi", as was pointed out in another post. My girlfriend hates Sci-Fi, but drools at a new Star Wars film. A lot of people I know are like this. You don't see countries naming a defense system after Star Trek or The Terminator. Then again, a Space Shuttle named "The Executor" or "The Lusankya" would be rather cool, methinks.😀

According to most "Star Wars" web sites.
N'Sync was in a scene shot for the film. But they were in a large group of people that you wouldn't know to look for, and the scene they are in could be cut all together.

I heard that Joey from N'sync confirmed on air that there were too many complaints about the scene...so they cut it from the movie. Maybe we'll get lucky and see it on the DVD 🙄

and if we are really lucky maybe they will be in an upcoming star trek movie to..."send the N'sync ensigns out to see what that noise was" arrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhh...help ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....my gawd.....noooooooooo...bzzzzzz bzzzzzz......."captain..thier dead"
