Are you one of the 50 million people who signed up for the National Do Not Call Registry hosted by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)? A federal judge just ruled in opposition to the Registry. Judge Lee R. West decided that the FTC has no authority to "promulgate a national do-not-call registry." This, of course, makes telemarketing companies happy because this list would result in an estimated $50 billion loss in sales each year. Chairman of the FTC wrote in a written statement, "We will seek every recourse to give American consumers a choice to stop unwanted telemarketing calls."
Which means we'll all have to get caller ID and that telezapper thing
