I don't mean emails but real love letters, on paper, sent thru the mail with a stamp..i wrote a blog about a thirty two year old love letter David wrote me while we were in our last year of college..I had recently stumbled upon it. I had kept it, but forgot about it lately until i accidentally found it..Now it's safe in a desk here by the computer..

That would be a nice thought...

That is, sadly what this generation would be missing alright...

Yes they do. I have written a couple for my boyfriend and he has written a few for me. I save them. 🙂

Why do I find it funny that you'd blog about the death of handwritten words?

it wasn't a love letter, but i had an ex fax me a handwritten letter inviting me to see a movie with him....it was delightfully ironic

Maybe I should try this next time.

It's a shame that old romantic ways like this are dying out.

i dont know about the rest of world but i have not write a letter in ages ,and anything about love....
but we are in 21 century you should consider a email like a letter because is what we use to comunicate actually,we dont go to work by stagecoach,we are sons of our time....i think

^ How old do you think i am???? I wasn't around during the stage coach era..hard as that might be to believe..

And the thing about an email...anything can happen..emails can get lost..deleted accidentally...ah well..

Being romantic i have wrote love letters and the modern day email love letters, but emails don't get answered and all the information compilied and effort involved and then the person on the other end can't be bothered to reply kills any romance stone dead, if there is no address phone number, or a big pond and time difference of five hours it makes, romance difficult, if you have a busy shedule and the other party is at home all day it becomes impossible, so if you can't get to see the person face to face with some flowers foget the love letters, romance isn't dead, men don't kill it off but the ladies who don't answer these love emails, don't deserve or warrant the attention.

I think I'll try this next time Senshi and I are apart for a day......thanks Izzy!

ha, ha, ha ,sorry i didnt want to be so ...bad-manered
i didnt write about you when i speak about stagecoachs..it was only a example,(i speak english but i dont have a good command of english languaje so sometimes when i speak i'm very direct, even brutal
)
of course a email could be lost or deleted and a letter could be lost ,also, or it could arrive late.
actually we think about letters like something romantic , something where you can feel the person who writes you , you see the letter writen by hand ,even you can smell the letter ,but the email is something inmediate, fast, arrive in the moment....letters and mails are ways of comunication and the mail is more effective because is faster... but i would like to receive, at least, one letter more. actually we only receive burocratic mail and it is something magic when you receive a personal letter....

This is the age of instant gratification, and with the development of hotmail and emails... bravo, instant gratification outlet! Not a lot of people have enough time to 'waste' by sitting down and writing a hand-writ letter, but sitting on your butt and typing inane drivel almost 24/7 is seen as something commonplace.
A letter shows that you took time to sit down, look at the blank page, and think about the person who you're writing it to, and then actually write it. There's a lot of personality that can go into a handwritten letter, ex. handwriting analysis - regardless of the credibility of that study. And sure you may get made fun of a bit for 'brutal' handwriting, or whatnot, but still it shows that you actually remembered to write something, and included your own personal style, instead of merely clicking a different font for your text to show up as.

... And, I know, I know, I'm really bad for writing letters myself. Heh. At least now I have a medical reason for my apparent laziness and lack of initiative. 😉 :stickout
