i was just re reading my post in the happening hipster thread..and realize i type exactly as i talk...changing subjects..talking rather fast..as i think, i type what i'm thinking exactly as i think it...do you? or do you take more time and try to appear intelligent lol...sorry..

yes another useful thread from isabeau...i'd rather post silly, fun threads personally...it's why i like it here...

A bit. 😉 (Hence the 'frequent' use of emoticons to depict what I may actually be doing, to an extent.)😛 Just on my iPod, I have to think more as I'm trying to type out the words- so I may miss adding a tangent I'd insult, every so often. Heh ;P

Yes, I kinda only stop to see if I missed a comma or mistyped a word, since a punctuation sign can mean the difference.

Hmm.

It's opposite, for me.

I used to not be able to talk worth a poo, but I seemed to be able to talk through my typing much easier, for some weird reason...probably 'cause I'm a writer. Maybe that's why I type like a storyteller...huh...

So yeah, it started off like that...I typed great and I talked poorly...and then I noticed that my typing started to affect my talking.

So, instead of typing like I talk...

...I'd say that I now talk like I type.

If that makes sense...

I tend to vary in my manners of speaking and typing at times. I like Dalek Fire am a writer, but I can talk quite eloquently when given the cxhance, and I type as well, however, I don't always show the true power of my eloquence in my
typing here, becusae this place I reserve for all of my online silliness. Yes Tickletheater.com you are my silliness crapper...!

I write more eloquently than I speak. I use proper grammar when I speak, but obviously you have more time to think when you write. I would say though that I do use the same manner of tone and temperament both writing and speaking.

I type just about the same way I talk. To the point and sarcastic.

Well, I don't misspell things as much when I'm speaking, but otherwise...yes.

I can definitely relate with what seems to be the majority of people thus far. I may type as if I speak, but I don't really like talking too much, so I tend to type much more frequently instead. 🙂 Oh, and I tend to tone it down a bit when I'm writing on here, though I tend to still be anal about grammar and spelling errors (which a few people purposely abuse just to screw with me ), I just throw a lot more slang and colliquialisms in versus normal talking.
And yes I would say 'colliquialism' if I were speaking! >_<

Not really... When I talk, I speak "Ebonics" and I use a lot of slang. I don't use Ebonics or slang when I type cuz I know nobody will understand what I'm trying to say.

some people want to know if the hollywood brother talks as cool as he types. well the truth is that the hollywood brother has a alter ego that talks normal but when the hollywood brother changes out of his mild mannered secret identity to become the cool hollywood brother then the third person just flows out onto the forum and in some conversation

Dude. It's like you've hit me with the worst news since I found out the easter bunny was dead.

I always thought that there really was a HOLLYWOODBROTHE, roaming the lands, righting wrongs and kickin' out major' jams...

A part of me has died tonight. :|

DudeA part of me has died tonight. :|

Just keep believing, Rick. Never stop believing. Because once you do, it'll never have any chance of being real again...

HOLLYWOODBROTHE...we will forever believe in you!!!

Yeah no kidding. Besides, you missed that last part. He said himself that the Hollywood Brother is real!
As for the topic, yeah, for the most part I'd say I talk like I type. I try to be me wherever I am, whether in real life or online, though sometimes I'm a little more eloquent online, where I have more time to think about what I want to say.
What I think is interesting is that I have some friends who have accents, and they actually type with an accent.

Well most of the time i type in spanish i guess, and probably type almost exactly as i speak, which is not the same case as in english, when i type my poor grammar skills appear, and maybe when i speak is kind the same, but most people gets distracted by my delightful latino accent hehe, and ignores my ill conceived sentences 😀

In some ways I do type like I talk, but.. Seeing as I'm typing in a language which isn't my
own I sometimes try to shape it up a bit, using the right idioms, grammar and so on.
When I type in Swedish, on the other hand, I type exactly as I talk ^^,

:redstar:

I don't F up enough words when I type to be like when I talk. I have an unfortunate problem of mutilating words, even entire phrases and I don't even know I'm doing it.

But otherwise, yes. Although, now that I think about it. There's no way to put into text my wild vocal modulation. I speak quite loudly and am constantly modulating. I guess the best way to do it would be...

<Drive Time Radio Guy>Well, this is kinda it. I've got that radio voice, ha-ho!</Drive Time Radio Guy>

uh...who said the easter bunny is dead????? next you will tell me there isn't a santa claus...damn damn damn why must my illusions be destroyed like this..

izzy has talked in the third person when she was her alter ego, innocentsexcat...it came fairly easily to her...and with her last online Master, she talked in the third person..but not being royalty, izzy would find talking in the third person rather silly...typing it is one thing, saying it is another...

to quote the Queen...."We are not amused."
