Do you watch anime?

While I don't think it is strictly for kids, I don't watch it for many other reasons

1. I find the dialogue extremely banal and simplistic (and yes this applies to both dubbed and subbed anime.)

2. I hate the overexagerrated emotions of most anime characters; I find it cheesy and not humerous in the least.

3. I'm not a big fan of the art style itself, it always looks weird to me to see characters with eyes as big as dinner plates and mouths that take up two thirds of their face.

4. Seeing japanese schoolgirls raped by alien tentacles isn't exactly my tankard of mead (although I'm just nit picking on certain anime my friend seems to enjoy here)

5. While some anime does have a good, solid and interesting plot (Cowboy Bebop and Trinity Blood come to mind) the rest seems like it originated from the mind of a not particularly bright child.

6. Must characters shout out their moves at 100 decibles whilst they fight? Is this really necessary?

7. Must there always be the token pretty boy, the token pervert and the token whiny girl in every single anime series?

....and this my dearies, among many more reasons is why I dislike anime; as well as most everything else on tv. More power to anyone that does like it, I don't mean to offend here. Just stating why I dislike it.

Good point, most anime tends to have very annoying dialogue, and not to be racist but a lot of the Japanese shows I've seen are the same way (live action I mean)

Another good point, I think its slapstick, but again many Japanese shows are. I think this came from the nineteen thirties and forties American cartoons, such as Mickey Mouse (where we get the big ol' eyes for anime, as the creator of RoboBoy loved Disney's work, and emulated it to his own design) and Tom and Jerry. Mainly this is in Hentai, and I do not enjoy that shit worth anything. Hell I don't like seeing REAL people doing it, why the fuck do I need to see cartoon characters doing it?

Some would say Trinity Blood is just a fusion of Hellsing meets Trigun, but I still like it. As to why its nearly all the same? Hell same reason here in America, do what sells. See here for answer to number seven too.

Personally I hate the soft core porn, all out perv porn and other kinds of Hentai.

Well, most animes have a higher "perv" ratio than most western toons - but true hentai isn't *that* common.

I watched my share of mecha shows, but never stumbled into hentai, unless I was actively looking for it.

Well... the Gundam franchise is quite extensive.
I'm limiting myself to the original - Universal Century Mobile Suit series, for the nostalgia factor.

From what I've gathered, most of the other series cater to a different target audience, so I never really bothered to watch them.

Tickling in cartoons does not do it justice, I agree. But anime, with a lot of some of the newer plots, just sizzle if you ask me.

for me it kind of depends on the Anime. Naruto, Dragonball Z, etc all make me want to gouge my eyes out with blunt objects. But, I can watch certain things all the way through. Pretty much I don't like anything with more than 26 Episodes. Here are a few recommendations (not like you care) of a few of the Better Series I have watched

Anything with Myazaki is good. I do like Naruto and DBZ although Dragon ball GT made me want to peel my eyes. And that was with the added material.
