While working at a pizza parlor I observed a man ordering a small pizza to
go. He appeared to be alone and the cook asked him if he would like it cut
into 4 pieces or 6. He thought about it for some time before responding.

"Just cut it into 4 pieces," he said. "I don't think I'm hungry enough to eat 6
pieces."

What's sad is, I can picture this happening in real life..

I wonder if I can use this logic on my paycheck and ask them to pay me twice a month for half the amount instead of once a month for the full amount.

This makes me think though, if you put your time in during a day, and you got the money you earned for that day THAT day, you can get 1-30 days worth of extra interest earned (what little interest they give you..) in your bank account.

This becomes more and more significant as inflation rises.

Indeed, during the hyperinflation in the Weimar Republic (1923), workers demanded to be paid in cash twice a day so they could rush out and spent the money for something of value before it became worthless. (The loaf of bread that cost 5 billion marks at noon might cost 20 billion marks at 6pm.)

I'm sure if this man gets sick, he can be cured using placebo. Then another thing, maybe he boils 6 eggs for 18 minutes. 😀 😀 😱
