Does anyone find it weird how we have about 100 people on constantly yet only about 50 replies/new topics every day?

Just wondering

Not really. Most people just sign up for account to get clips and pictures and never take part in any discussion. They can go to hell. 😉

I can understand many people being "scared" of comunication with others about theyre fetish, cause they are scared that people find out. Even thats impossible when you can be as secret as possible here. But a thing I experienced sometimes myself here is that it's difficult to get respons from other people here. Sometimes it seems like it's one "gang" in here, and if your not a part of it, then they don't care about you. I might be wrong, but I had that feeling sometimes. That makes me want to stop write stuff in the forum.

I would not say that everybody is "scared".
Most people on an adult site just do not have the chance or time to comment.

I mean, we all agree that most of the time we are relying on our "free hand" for some "one-handed web surfing".
Unless you happen to be some three-handed wonder, you are just out of spare hands to type something meaningful...

😉

Then again, some people do NOT like to come out of the closet.
It is fine with me.
Gives a lopsided image of forum dynamics, since vocal members can tip the balance more than sheer numbers would allow.
But it is basically fine.

Were I to choose between a silent fan and a vocal troll, I'd take the quiet guy any day.

🙂

Eh, it is a problem with most forums.
Oldtimers tend to stick together.
Cliques do form and disband.
They are arguing about that as we type, on TMF.

It is unavoidable, I guess: fans of the same cartoon character, friends of a given artist, followers from the same religion or political leaning.
People tend to seek like-minded fellows. Human is a social beast.

Tend is the key word...
Somebody does feel left out, like you do.
Leaving does not work much.
Consider leaving when you cannot get the same fun you used to, and never slam a door on your way out.
Do consider a temporary leave of absence, if you must, but burning your bridges is seldom worth it.

I mean, they could not be bothered to comment when we are here.
They won't be bothered to comment when we leave either...
So why leave in the first place?

😉

Because I'm just screwing around. :ayyy:

Yeah it happends on moust forums, but I find it strange that it happends so much on forums like this. It's not allways easy to have a tickling fetish and you seek comfort to communicate with people who have the same fetish. You try to join conversations and discussions. You write long comments, but no one seems to care, cause they are to busy talking and having fun with the people they allready know on the forum. There are hundreds of threads that only the poeple who know eachother understand. It's like being in Junior Hight or something where it's "the cool ones" and "the freaks". More people should welcome newbies to forums like this and. It's not allways easy to feel the need to stay on a forum when nobody want to notis you. I don't feel that Im not welcome here, but I don't doubt that there is a shitload of people who feel they are not welcomed. If they have problems with theyre fetish life from before, then a experience like this can be heartbreaking.

Im not going to complain about my situation. I get the opertunity to tickle feet whenever I want, but I still don't know a single foot or tickle fetishist in real life. Thats kind of a bummer cause it would be so cool to talk about those kind of things 😛

Eh, funny you mention it. They just used the same term over TMF, for a similar kind of complaint.
See, you are not alone...

😉

It's just the tribe system, man.
The lord. The lady. And the supporting cast.

I don't mind much, since I cannot stand myself, let alone stand other people for long.
But I can understand that from the outside, the "tribe" looks like a closely knit group with little space for noobs.

They are not that contemptous. They are just defending themselves from potential threads. Trolls. Creeps. Other alpha males.
Sometimes the tribe can just expand so much, and they cannot really accept new people without growing beyond the capability of sustaining themselves.
You can have just one alpha wolf in a flock...

Sure, this means newbies tend to get a rather cold shoulder.
That is the reason why I don't like forums or online games much.
I know myself perfectly well, I see no point in introducing myself and proving my mettle to each and new tribe I am being exposed to...

But that's how society works...
Some societies mean more than others do, so if you are growing weary with proving yourself everytime you are a "relative" noob to some clique, do grow more selective, so you have to expose yourself just to a tiny number of groups that bear some degree of relevance to you.

I keep asking this over on TMF and got no answer, so I'm gonna ask it here.

Where the hell is this "In Crowd" everyone keeps talking about?

a lot of the people on this site just lurk around and steal the clips, while we discuss and talk about stuff

I don't think that time is any issue for these people. Go and click on those names you are going to find a ton of people who have been members for years without a post. Some I would say are shy. Some think we're the real weirdos for posting while they safely hide.

Of course nobody should be required to post. Personally, I think it's sad to be a lurker. Never wanting to participate in any conversation or even say thank you to all the contributors.

We need a recognized, "Lurker Coming Out Day". Perhaps if there were a day when they would feel encouragement and support then maybe they might increase that post count to 1.

I know for me, I'm not a big feet person, and a lot of threads are foot only. I can only get on a few days a week, reviewing several days worth of posts at a time and do not have time (or opinions) to respond to all. So I reply when and where I can.

If they lurk, let 'em lurk. Maybe someone else has already stated their opinion. Or, maybe they are just a bit shy or hesistant.

Me? I could care less if I am considered in the 'in group" or a lurker or just a grazer. This is a much mroe relaxed place (usually) than TMF, so I chose to post here almost exclusively.

Given my post count, I haven't been a vocal person (i just started posting a week ago, I get very busy and literally havent visited the site since I joined). I finally contibuted some art and started giving thanks to those who do contribute. Some people want to keep a clean identity and maybe subconsciously bashful of their fetish. I agree with those who've said similar in the thread. Some people are social beings, others aren't here for the company.

What I do know is I've noticed that members here are very welcoming to anyone who posts a little hello or something. I met a lot of people in life, but I wanted to meet more tickle lovers because I want to explore the side I've neglected. There are some people Id love to talk to, and Im excited to show more of my work here. Im happy I've opened my mouth, I just wanted to share a positive experience with those who are pondering posting or not.

Im an open person, and I look forward to learning alot about anyone and everyone ^_^

I don't find it weird more than I find it sad. And, I only find it sad for the sake of the site. It does reflect on the community in a negative way and opens our eyes to the facts, which many like to deny with "we've got (insert number of members here)!". When only a small handful of people contribute, in some way, it makes the pride and boasting of member tallies insignificant and beside the point. It makes it very obvious and transparent who is in this for the people, friends, conversations and sharing, and who is just plain leeching. In actuality, it shows us who are people and who are fetishists. It shows us the extremes, and that can be uncomfortable to see when those people post, since what they say tends to seem obsessive or uncomfortable. I, for one, am a person, not a fetishist, and I'm looking for other normal (and by normal I mean not obsessed or consumed by the fetish) people to interact with here.

I think it's sad, because it's a reminder, as if we needed one, of the state of things and how they never really get better. The community aspect of the site just ends up merely breaking even, and thats disappointing to me. The place could be alot more fun if people were more into this aspect of the website. It would also increase the appeal and staying power of the site, especially versus other competitor sites, so its well worth the time to contribute to/towards a robust community. If you're just taking material but not putting anything into the community or being a part of the community, then collectively you're helping to make this site just another plain fetish site, when it's obvious the charisma, character, and personalities that keep the community going, are what makes us unique and are what we need more of.

As a community, we're not just screen names to each other, and I think it's important to remember that type of community spirit. If you don't, you're just a cold website, undeserving of having the word 'community' in your site title.

Notice this difference, for example: TMF = Tickling Media FORUM
TTCoao = Tickle Theater online adult COMMUNITY

That the owner thought to call this a community rather than a forum means that he held/holds the same ideals that I do, and I hope more people would/will. It would make this place a better place to be.

I think some people are just nervous about posting. I was member for about a month before I felt comfortable enough to post anything.

That can be true and often is, but the problem with that is their intentions or doings are completely ambiguous and unaccounted for. I think it's important to remember this fact when you're speaking in regards to or questioning why there are less posters and/or why the community is small while the userbase is vast. As this is the matter behind the topic, it makes sense to bring it up, both what you and I are saying.

Because we cannot count people who don't speak up, however, we cannot speak for them or assume it's because they're merely embarrassed, or whatever the issue for them is which makes them not want to post. The reason could be simple or it could be complex. Unless we track them individually, which may be seen as a limited invasion of their privacy and right to be anonymous, we cannot tell what these people are doing if they don't post at all. Even just posts responding to videos or pictures are not enough to make a sound observation, as that only shows us they are interested enough to respond to material, but not necessarily the people providing it or having an interest in them. One thing you definitely can say is that most accounts that are otherwise lurker accounts post to material and not to people or discussions. This demonstrates how their feelings towards the community are either ambivalent, indifferent, or unknown. It could just be one of these or none of them at all. Alternatively, it could be as you say, and be simple embarrassment or nervousness. The fact is, we just don't know about that, only what we can see- less community more leeching/lurking.

I think a way to make people post would be to not let them view/download things unless they have XX post.

That which resides in the night may do so not out of fear or loathing, but of the inability to express the communication, for those who reside within the theater dine on their shared language of choice as though the snake may devour a tail.

I, Garimto, commiserate.

For some, this is a forum that talks about vast variaties of stuff other than tickling. These people are the people who contribute.

For others, this is a porn site... nothing else. These people are the lurkers or "people who hide in the shadows". XD

Actually, we tried something like that.
It backfired.
Badly.

Everybody and their mutant alien space-lice-infested dogs started TROLLING whatever threads they could lay their scaly paws on so they could raise their post-count and get a premium account.

Not fun, believe me.

...

Just picture this for a moment: I am a brand new 0-posts noob.
I want to grab the loot, and have some cheap fun with a couple of pics and a video or two.

I am busy gaining practice points in the dexterity-based skill "one-handed web-surfing", and I can spare just so much attention reading the disclaimers, the faqs, the manuals, the caveats and the whatnots.

I'm suffering from ADD already - the attention disorder, not the rpg... well ok, maybe from both... - and you are asking me to grow a third arm and a second set of eyes, so I can post something barely articulate, and raise my post-count to the basic level most other forums grant for free...?

Yeah, sure, and maybe you'd like me to post something sensible too!

...

Not to mention the huge hit in sales.
If artists, producers or publishers were to accept money only from active users, we'd all be starving under some bridge.

Thumbs down on your idea, man.

😉

Well the names, constantly on the active list but never post, could be on some other site but just forgot to log off of this one... or they could just be ninjas

People here are nice, I don't have an answer why some people don't post.
Good luck to all, even the ones that don't post.😎

Aloha, John. 😉

For some reason, whenever someone mentions the word "lurker" on this thread, I get the image of those spider-like Zerg guys from Starcraft.

Damn, I am such a nerd :nerd:

been trying to be active the last couple of days, but damn...people here are dead!!!!

Or is it just that when it's daytime here, it's night over there (US)? 😛
Im bored!!! baaaaaaaaaaaaaah! :tired:

Sorry, yeah its that whole being on the other side of the world thing. Yeah it sucks.
