This is not a request for a pity party I am taking medication for the depression but I honestly think I have it because I always seem out of it when people talk to me.
The short answer is yes. People with depression tend to get more depressed around the holiday season for a variety of reasons. Some can include not being able to (or having) family to be with during the holidays. The stress holidays and shopping can also bum people out. This is especially true for people who are on a fixed income or low income.
There is another disorder called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) which can affect people primarily during the winter months. This is believed to be cause by lack of sunlight which produces vitamin D when the sun hits the skin. For some "sun lamps" which put off the same rays as sun light (tanning won't work) can trick the skin into producing the same effect.
Lastly I am not sure if you got your meds from a family doctor or a psychiatrist. The latest "trend" is people with depression and often anxiety get psych meds from there family doc and sometimes do not get diagnosed properly.
I hope this helped and ya feel better🙂
Oi, I suffer from this, but not in the same way alot of people do. For me it's BECAUSE of the whole family thing.
...I just lost my favorite parrot Tuffy to a stroke and buried her this afternoon. I don't presume to say that my depression is as intense or prolonged as yours might be, Tickleteasing, but today I am definately depressed.
