I heard a dispicable story today about a dog that was hit by a car, a cop shot it in the head to put it out of it's misery, and then the people at the pet morgue found the dog standing upright in the body bag in the freezer.
I must start by saying that there is a need for law and order, and that many brave police died on 9/11. I know there are members of the TMF who are police and former police, and I respect those who chose to make a living by enforcing law.
But I must also say that there are some people who are cops who don't have a shred of intelligence. Between this new story, as well as another incedent that took place a few years ago in New York where a cop put two Rottweilers in the trunk of the police car on a 90 degree day (the dogs obviously sufficated) I am losing faith in the average cop. What would make this moron think that it's his place to decide if somebody elses dog should be shot, especially when the dog was obviously not seriously injured. It's scary to think of some of the people that are given firearms.
