Download problem...seeking advice.

I've been having a problem downloading larger files and was wondering if anyone could help me out. The download completes prematurely. Regarding the most recent example, the file was slightly less than 16 Megs in size. At the moment, I am using a 56K modem, so I certainly expect it to take awhile. However, once the download reaches about 3 Megs, it "completes" , and leaves me with an incomplete file. I have already tried deleting my temporary internet files and re-downloading. I suspect the problem may be caused by interruptions in the internet connection itself (Translation: 56K sucks), but I'm kind of hoping it's something else that can be resolved. Suggestions/thoughts, anyone?

tried a download manager?...if the connections lost you can resume where you left off after reconnecting.if you`re getting download complete messages are you sure that it`s not a problem with the server you`re getting the clips off,yahoo is dreadful for clip downloads,i regularily have problems getting clips that are over about 2-3mb in size from them.

Mine does that, I always thought it was my stupid ISP (who has shut me out of my mailbox). I found that if I uninstalled the file and tried again (about 3 times) that it would totally complete
