Drenching Rain In Northeast, Mid Atlantic..

We are having a drenching rain from today into tomorrow in the entire North East and Mid Atlantic region.

New York City is forecast to receive anywhere from 3 to 4 inches of rain. It is currently pouring rain in New York City.

All baseball games in this region, including games in Baltimore, Philadelphia, the Yankees game at Yankee Stadium, and the Red Sox game at Fenway Park, have been postponed because of rain.

This is one of the worst rain storms we have had in quite some time.

We're getting the same thing up here. I think it's supposed to rain until the weekend.

So far nearly 3 inches of rain has fallen. It's still raining heavily here, and they say its supposed to rain until noon tomorrow.

As people who have read my posts know, I watch WPVI from Philly online on a regular basis. There is serious flooding in the Philadelphia area. Here in NYC there are flood watches and warnings, but, in my area, flooding usually doesn't occur.

Had a nasty thunderstorm here at about 3 AM last night. Knocked out power for about 4 hours.

Sorry about that kop. We had storms here too, but thankfully no power outage. I had plenty of those when I lived in Lancaster, PA for 13 years.

The power grid in NYC does seem to be more robust than that in smaller cities and towns.

This afternoon we had heavy thunderstorms and rain in NYC. More is forecast for this evening.

We've been getting hammered down here in the Mid-Atlantic also(getting more rain today). I think last wkend was the first time we've had 3 sunny dry days in a row all year. All the rain and snow we've had is destroying our streets;

Supposedly, this upcoming Friday is forecast to be monsoon like conditions in NYC, with 1 to 2 inches of heavy rain, and thunder. Not a pleasant day to look forward to, to be sure.
