I have ***really*** dry feet, which dulls the tickling, and I have used all sorts of lotions, but they never seem to get my feet moist. They still dry up, and I cannot stand lotions that feels like grease.

What else should I do?

Is it just your feet that are dry, or is it the skin everywhere?

Just dry feet, I'd pick a heavy cream designed for feet, put it on at night, and wear cotton socks to bed. You'll have the dry skin licked (no pun intended) in no time.

Lush makes a good foot creme http://www.lushcanada.com

So does 'Splash' - they have a cream called 'hand job' that is for dry hands, but works great on the feet. http://www.splashbathandbody.com/

If your skin is dry everywhere, I'd recommend drinking more water and taking cod liver oil (or flaxseed oil if you don't do fish). You can get it in capsule form and it's amazingly effective against dry skin.

Thanks. I guess I will just drink water, because I do not do fish very well

I'd recommend....

Any lotion with shea butter in it. Works great. I've seen it mostly in hand creams, because it's richer then regular lotion, but I've used those hand creams on my feet, and they work great. The sock trick that Phoebe mentioned--I agree, it really does help.

Three words will remedy and answer your inquiry.

Parafin Wax Dip.

Guaranteed to work.

Flaxseed oil is amazing for your health in many respects. It prevents cancers etc.. as well as being good for people with exma, so I suppose it would work for any dry skin. Water is really good for you too: I probably drink about 5 pints a day 🙂

I'd take it one step further and slap raw fish all over your feet every evening! LOL 😀

I was at bed bath and beyond a couple weeks ago and found something that was called foot repair. I dont knwo exactly what it did, though.

Yes a pumice stone or brush after you shower to get the dead skin off and then use....becareful when using a pumice stone, you can get too close and cause the skin to be raw.

the nurse in me comming out...

... i think you were asked if it was just your feet, or other areas that are dry. if it's just your feet, this could be a sign of decreased blood circulation. are you diabetic? sorry to be nosey, but i start to think of the medical implications, this could be a symptom of?

Good point Steve, yes by all means if you are a diabetic you have to be very careful with your feet and toes. I didn't think about that, thanks Steve good information to be known. 🙂

TM, my feet used to be very dry and coarse as well. Part of it was being dehydrated all the time. But, I also went barefoot a lot, which scuffed them up and formed callouses. (By mid summer, I could put out a cigarette with my bare foot and not even feel it.) Once I started drinking more water and using a pumice stone on my feet, that was it. It took about a month to get to the point of them actually being soft. Now, they're very sensative. One thing to keep in mind is to SOAK your feet when you use a pumice stone. If you do it dry or with them just wet, it's not going to do as much. Letting your feet soak in good warm water will soften the dead skin so that it comes off without a lot of pressure or extra rubbing.

And the step after that is to get yourself a pair of kittens to lick the fishy smell from your feet. Yep, that oughta do it! :blaugh:
