I got an e-mail with a wmv attached.I want to save just that, but when i click save attachments i get the entire e-mail saved. Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong?

Which email service are you using? That information may help me figure it out for you, but if not, and if no one else can help you here, there's an excellent forum specializing in email issues (at which I'm a regular reader/poster) at: emaildiscussions.com.

Ah, okay. I was going to ask you which service OR client/program you're using, but since I was under the impression you were wanting to download the attachment(s) only, and as far as I know, no email program which downloads email via (most comonly) the POP3 protocol is able to download just the attachment(s) but only the entire email message, I assumed you were trying to download the attachment from webmail, which might be the only way to save/download just the attachment(s). But as I don't know which actual email service you're using (e.g., Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, Comcast, Earthlink, etc.) I don't know if they even provide webmail.

As far as "saving" it, I guess I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that, since if you've already downloaded the message to Outlook Express, then any attachments should already be saved somewhere on your computer, in whatever folder Outlook Express stores its email attachments to by default. Or perhaps you're trying to use a "save" function within Outlook Express itself, which might allow you to save a copy of the attachment to a folder of your own choice on your computer. But not having used Outlook Express for a few years (I only use webmail these days), my memory of such things, had I once known about them, is more than a bit vague by now.

But in order for anyone to help you figure out how to solve the problem, whether here or at the other forum I mentioned, you'll probably have to give a lttle more clear description of exactly what you're trying to do. Have you already downloaded the entire message to Outlook Express?

Edit: If you're trying to save the attachment(s) from the Outlook Express program itself, with the message open in OE, can you click (or maybe right-click) on the attachment icon(s) or link(s) and get a menu with a "save" or "save as..." option?
