E-mail from the TMF...i think.

I recently reciedved an e-mail refering to the TMF, with some sort of attachment on it. I was sowndering if anybiody else had gotten this, and if so, if it's real, or simply a virus or spam going around.

If you don't know who it is from..and can't verify what it is..
DELETE it!..better safe than sorry...We delete all emails with attachments unless pre-arranged by people we know and trust...

Anyone who ever got an e-mail from the forum could be responsible. This virus grabs a random e-mail address out of the infected machines address book and places it in the 'from' slot. It grabs another and puts it in the 'to' slot. So it's basically random. The forum gets about 30 a day. I've seen just about every major community name on them, including the forums own 🙂

Words to leave by, never open an attachment if you really know the person and trust them! Just like Myriads stated, and you'll be okay 🙂

We got tons of these this time last year when klez was out of control. We still get them, but not as often. Now, if I get mail that appears to be from someone I know but wasn't expecting to hear from, I check with them before opening it. The same goes for clicking on links that are anything other than html files. I just don't want to have to nuke my system again. It's too much of a pain!
