Tickling reference in "E.T." Novelization
Many moons ago, when "E.T." first came out and was novelized, there was a tickling reference in it that really attracted my youthful attention (the days before the internet, you know -- one had to take what he could get).
There's a scene (I can't provide the page, I haven't seen my copy in years) where Eliot's sister is using her knowledge of ET to blackmail him into playing with her, on her easybake oven. Eliot's friends arrive and are shocked by the spectacle. One thinks he knows what must have happened (sister found his Playboys). Another, though, can't imagine doing such things with a sister. The narration says, t the best of my recollection,
"He would only play with his younger sister when the game was reasonably entertaining. Like tickling her until she nearly had a nervous breakdown. Or tying her to a tree, and then tickling her."
Not a big deal, but I just happened to remember it.
