Those of us on the East Coast.. are experiencing/bracing for/watching/ a hurricane/tropical storm over the next several days.

My thoughts are with the members of the forum in Florida.. who I know are already dealing with the effects of this storm.

Supposedly.. it is supposed to come straight up the East Coast.. between now, and Sunday.

In NYC, where I am, it's supposed to be a wind driven heavy rain from late on Saturday, all through Sunday.

Such an event would be our first since Hurricane Sandy, in 2012.

With Sandy, NYC had up to 100 mph winds, and parts of Manhattan were completely dark.

Hopefully, it will go out to sea, but the entire East Coast needs to watch this one.

Nice Labor Day weekend.

Stay safe everyone. If you need to evacuate please find a way. Property can be replaced. Your life can't.

The last storm we had was Sandy in October 2012. That was an actual hurricane, with 100 mph winds.

This, at least in NYC, looks like it's going to be a Tropical Storm with strong winds, and very heavy rain, mainly on Saturday night, and Sunday.

I feel badly for those south of here, who are going to get an actual strong Tropical Storm/Hurricane with such winds, and supposedly 5 to 10 inches of rain. I don't think it's going to be that bad here.

I heard that the storm is expected to coincide with unusually high tides, which could really batter the coastal areas. Also that it may swirl around a bit and stay in the same area for days. I hope everyone exercises caution and has plenty of provisions in case they're stuck inside for a few days. Take care and be safe peeps!

Supposedly they said it might stall, and actually strengthen a bit, not far from here.

It sounds like Sunday especially is going to be very rough in NYC.

It may veer out to sea when it reaches the North Carolina coast.

My tickling collection could never be replaced! I'd sooner perish! lol. (I'll be like the guy who wouldn't leave Mt. St. Helens, lol.)

The storm never really hit us as far as rain, but right now it sounds very windy outside. It seems as though the rain is going to stay away, but there may be some wind over the next couple of days.

Now, Mitchell...the winds - that's just them danged politicians making their rounds for November......

LOL.

Right now it's very windy, and overcast, and some showers are forecast for today and tomorrow. I would call it a nasty, windy day.
