Recently, my browser (Safari) had developed a nasty tendency to crash after I edited a post -- I'd hit save, and boom, there it goes.

Now, I can still get to the editing window, but the save button does nothing, so I can no longer edit messages.

Thought you should know.

Are you using Safari on a Mac or the PC version? The PC version is in Beta stage, meaning the dev team is constantly trying new things out with it before releasing a final version. Try downloading it again from Apple, uninstalling the old version and installing the new; they may have released a new version which corrects the problem. There are also nightly builds released by the dev team but in order to install these you have to compile the source code and build the application. Bit of a bother. If you wish to try that builds are at the first link and a page on how to build is the second:

http://nightly.webkit.org/
http://webkit.org/building/build.html

As of right now I am not having troubles so it be on your end, aye.

Been using it on Mac for a long time. Just started having this problem...

Nothing has changed on the TMF end. I believe the inline edit feature (where you are able to edit your post without having to be taken to a new page) makes use of javascript. Do you recall if you have altered any settings in Safari recently? Or installed a new version of Java (Java shouldn't be directly related to javascript but I've seen weirder)? For example, if "Enable Javascript" or "Enable Java" are not selected in Edit>Preferences>Security then they should be.

Considering Safari is part of the Mac OS an update to the OS could have interfered. Have you updated it recently? Even something seemingly trivial could be at fault.

I assume here that you have already tried clearing your cache of all files and deleting all cookies. If not this should be done; a corrupt file in the cache could be associated with the edit feature. This can be done via Edit>Reset Safari. Uncheck things you want to stay (Like autofill information).
