Eggnog with alcohol.

So, Christmas is looming ever so closer. The family will cluster together under one roof in force. Plenty of liquid cheer will be poured.

My question to you all is what would be the best choice of alcohol to mix with my eggnog this year?

I have heard that rum is usually the best, but, what type? Other(realistic) suggestions are welcome.

Actually, I take my eggnog straight as well. However, I'm feeling a little experimental this Christmas.

I figure it's pretty much win/win. I mix the eggnog with a type of alcohol and like it. OR I end up hating it. On that end, I just drink my eggnog plain as I always have and mix the remainder of my alcohol with coke or pepsi.

hehe, nope, wild turkey and coke, or wild turkey with egg nog, it's her drink of choice on occasions after a hard, long, day.

Same here...

I'd say that rum is your best bet for eggnog, a friend of mine uses Malibu Rum, and in case he can't find any(or doesn't find it with his first glance) then Bacardi rum...

or for ur own sake, get like 5 bottles of eggnog, mix 4 with different stuff, then leave one pure for urself....OR HECK! 😀 Place 5 bottles (or more, I dunno how many guests ur having, ) of eggnog on the desk, and surround them with other drinks so the guest may decide on how he/she wants his/hers! 😉

the hollywood brother always heard the sake is good but as a all american hollywood brother i got to go with some whiskey or beer. beer is always a favorite of the hollywood brother but whiskey is up there too. After all if whiskey was good enough for Lee Marvin, Frank sinatra, John Wayne and all the tough cool guys then it man enough for the hollywood brother himself

I myself don't drink and I never have cared for eggnog straight up or any other way for that matter. I do know that Rum and Eggnog go together the best but as you can tell by all of the other posts to this thread people mix all different kinds of booze with their Eggnog. It's such a seasonal drink that my advice would be to experiment with different kinds of alchol, find the one you liked the best with Eggnog and have your Eggnog laced with that kind of licquer from then on.

The sick part is that I was trying my best last night to proof read my posts before I submitted them. Sadly, after all the possible scrutinisation I could muster, I sent them through. If you guys think the stuff I posted last night was deplorable(spelling wise) you should have seen what they looked like BEFORE the proof reading!
