The very sad news about Michael Jackson's death reminded me in some ways of the early death of Elvis both talented and very very gifted clever men, that we will not see the like of again, and yet they never seemed to find happiness and peace in life both went early and had upset during their lives, and it would appear that stress was a major problem and a possible cause of death, all be it indirect, or were they just victims of their own genius and the lack of someone very close at their hour of need, to care for them when they needed it most.Any ideas or thoughts.

God be with them and their families,May they and others who have died find peace and happiness, and our thoughts be with them.

A sorry state is the man or woman that has created an image of themselves so large that in engulfs them, destroying any real life they may try to have. Elvis and Michael both became trapped in their public identities. They became so large there was no escape, and both became recluses in their huge homes.

So different, and yet such similar paths taken in their lives.

True, there are differences. Instead of becoming a human mannequin, Elvis became a bloated behemoth until right before his death, as he was planning a new concert tour as MJ was.

I do not know if Elvis's father was anything like MJ's dad. I've heard enough to know that a lot of MJ's behavior came from how his dad treated, mistreated and neglected him.

Yeah, a blogger on another site is of the opinion that Mr. Jackson's songs are often about something other than what the titles and lyrics might indicate. As in expressions of pain and/or cries for help.

Michael's first top 10 hit, "I Want You Back," was in 1969. The same year as Elvis' last hit, "In The Ghetto." Elvis and Michael Jackson both died 8 years after their last single. Elvis was accused of stealing the black man's music. Michael was credited with stealing it back. Both gave their properties names ending in "-land." Both had Lisa Marie Presley. Both were icons, but died as unfortunate caricatures of their former selves. I think Michael had a bit of a morbid fascination with Elvis. Lisa Marie wrote in her myspace blog recently on MJ's passing, saying that they once had a discussion about death where Michael expressed fear about passing in the same way her father did.

Actually the coroner stated that he was surprised at how healthy Michael looked..

I'm not saying he didnt look healthy. Im saying he looked like a creature that would scare small children. To quote Alannis Morrisete " Ironic, dont ya think"

I agree, he went too far with the plastic surgery, but I think most people don't realize that he had vitiligo, a skin disease causing pigment issues. I think at first, it wasn't an issue because they could cover up the light spots with makeup, but as they started to spread, he began to bleach his skin. A normal person would probably just live with having the lighter and darker spots, but I guess as an entertainer, he felt he had no choice. Elvis just decided to eat too many peanut butter banana sandwiches and not work out.
