Emit?

Since Im becoming a relatively frequent member of the community, a question Ive had for a while and never asked is begging an answer.

Venray recently posted some emit pics. What/Who is emit, and when/who/where were they gathered from. Ive seen, I believe, archives of over 1000 of the emit series, and was just curious on their origin.

Any answer would be appreciated.

If memory serves me right (cue Iron Chef music), the pictures are from a huge series gathered and posted to Usenet years ago by someone going by the screen name of EmitECaps (read it backward). Parts of the series still turn up here and there.

The bulk of the Emit images come from scans of the tickling mags that came out in the early 90's.

In an era before cheep scanners on everyones desktop (only 6 years ago... sigh) images that had been transfered to net formats were few and far between. So the emit images were often the first that people saw upon getting on the web, and in many cases the first tickling images an isolated tickler ever saw in their lives when they first found one of the tickling newsgroups.
