This is a serious subject matter, so don't make fun and crack any obscene or obtrusive jokes. This subject has came up do to the fact that I have a guy friend who one day decided to dress up as a woman in a short skirt and tank top, looked himself in the mirror and his eyes sorta brightened up. It was then that he asked me what if he decided to change his gender and what would happen to our friendship if he did decide to have the sex change and become a woman...I told him that it would take a lot to get used to but it would work out b/c then I'd have me a new girlfriend lol. But now I decided to post this thread to see if any of you have ever thought of being a different gender than you were assigned originally?

i always thought it would be silly and interesting to like change genders, but only for like a week, then go back. just to see what the other sex goes through.

Well, if he's gonna do it, now's a good time. There's a lot of help he can get in his transition, and a lot of legislation in place that it shouldn't bite him in the ass too hard. Just make sure if he wants a sex change that he's a true sufferer of HBS and not just a transvestite looking for a thrill. But I've had a couple of transexual friends and at least one of them was an alright gal. She gets a little irritated at times, but what woman doesn't? 😉

I've often been curious about what it must be like (physically) to be female. Mostly in a fantasy sense, I've never seriously wanted to change genders.

FWIW, one of my favorite electronic musicians is a transsexual.

keeping with the serious tone, i've wished i was a women after each time getting a swift kick in the nuts.

but i'd like to be a woman for a week to give it a try, see the wonders and pains of being one.

So... let's say I'm stable and confident on my current "make", lol, being a straight mammal. But it's human nature to fantasize on something you'll never be, just out of curiosity, for once. Actually it's not only about temporary gender change. I'm also curious on how it feels like to have the following:

- wings
- having both genitals and boobs at the same time
- having 4 arms for virtuoso musical playing
- having additional eye at the forehead
- having powerful tails
- having another brain on kidney or feet

You see, if the gods go crazy and grant any of the above, I'd like to try and be a freak for a day or two, having all of those additions... It's just more complex than expected, hehehe.... You can beat me into it! :ggrin: :bouncy:

Seriously though, I don't want sex change or alterations behind the knife. It may damage the nerves and leave me unhappy in the end.

All the time.

Just to nitpick: gender is in your mind. You probably mean, "ever thought of being a different sex?" I'm already trans in terms of gender, but my sex is male. I have 3 to 5 trans friends depending on how you count them. 🙂 It's kind of a spectrum.

I like sites like this where you get to type in whatever you want for your gender, rather than choosing it from a list. But it would confuse most people (who really only care if you have a dick or not -- go figure) to type in anything besides m or f.

Like AnnoXanti, I'd be interested in any number of body modifications, if it were that easy. 😀 There's this girl who would really appreciate it if I had tentacle monster genitalia.

every time a hotflash hits...or back when i had my periods..:ggrin:

I'm a drag king...so I get to be "gender fluid" as often as I'd like.

I have many trans friends, and I've watched the process from beginning to end. The things that they go through emotionally, socially, physically...my hat is off to them all for becoming their true selves...no matter what it takes.

While I wonder if I was supposed to be male at times, I enjoy the body I was given. Therefore, while I would never consider complete transition, I just do my drag performances. I consider myself androgynous/gender-queer. I'm not feminine, but I'm not overly masculine either. I have the best of both worlds. 😉 😀

I have a trans-gender friend---she switched from a male to a female, and I'm glad SHE did. She's a great person and from what I can gather, much happier now, as i didn't know her before the switch. What bothers me is when mutual friends refuse to refer to her as a she...that's what she is. Get used to it--just because she's currently pre-op doesn't make her male. It hurts me to hear about her relatives who give her male clothing for Christmas and the like, but she's strong--she'll get through it 😉 Good luck girl, wherever you are!

Never. It's great being a dude. The internet being the grand and horrifying thing it is, I've seen more than a few people being into "gender transformation", and for the life of me can't get my head around it.

I'm pretty happy being a guy so I have no desire to switch. However, being able to experience the difference would be interesting. If I had the chance to try it out with the full knowledge that I could return I'd try it.

On the other hand falling into the Spring of Drowned Girl from Ranma 1/2 would not be something I would like to experience. :ayyy:

to be magically snapped into a Woman, with all the bells and whistles forever, would be misrable to me. hours primping yourselfs, so self concious, periods, hot flashes, PREGNANCIES!

hots off to you wonderful ladies

all i gotta worry about as a man is waking up, throwing clothes on that don't smell and i'm out the door. i MIGHT rub my hair to get it right. other than that don't get hit in the nads, and that's why i love being me.

but kudos to the brave souls that undergo the transition. there's all kinda science these days that can almost fully complete the transition it's awesome.

Breaking News! My friend has decided to go through with the gender reassignment surgery. He is due to have the surgery done the 1st of February. Wish him (soon to be her) luck everyone, as will I.

Wait, wait, wait... He's up and decided to have the surgery in February. Has he been on hormones? Gone through RLT? (Real Life Test) Sounds dubiously sudden to me...

Nope, never had the urge or inkling to think it. God made me as I am. And He doesn't make junk...

I too often confuse gender reassignment procedures with knee surgery.

=p

hey, a lot of my friends are having stuff done to them and I can't keep my dates and surgeries right...I have friends and family members that are having gender reassignments, total knee replacement surgeries, nose jobs, boob jobs, tummy tucks, facelifts, and other surgical things...gimme a break!

Ugh, I hate that line... My dad's used that as his one-and-only argument against anything I've ever wanted to change about myself.

well while we're on the subject of change...what did you want to change about yourself that he disagreed with?...unless you're too uncomfortable to talk about that....

Quite honestly, I have had this kind of thought process go on, though more in the terms of "what would it be like if I were born a woman instead?"
I've never really considered surgery though, and I certainly don't consider myself in the category of a "male lesbian". I think that there comes a point where everyone wants to change something about themselves, including gender; it comes down to either overcoming or succumbing to insecurities.

i agree, if everyone was made perfect as that claim states, everyone would be boring.

God didn't make Gremlins and Geo Metros cause they are awesome cars, they are junk cars. and some people love junk cars.

i'm heavyset with a need for glasses and bad knees not because god thinks i'm perfect that way, but some people love guys who aren't assembly line made, like myself.
