well, i got my cable internet bill this month. $80 friggin bucks. seems my cable company has monopolized all over my area in florida, and since they are the only provider for me they have monopolized and jacked u price $20 too far, and with me running up short, this is unbearable. i've resorted to selling my tickling videos in the tickling discussion section, so please, go check it out for a great deal. so if i can't get this fixed, no more internet, which means i gotta leave the TT maybe for good. so wish me luck, i got by these last 2 months by threatening to leave their company, but their not puttingup with that again, so it's full price this week. may not be bad news for everyone, but it affects everyone who enjoys my witty presence on the forums, and it makes my blood boil too. so, i'll tell ya if and when i gotta go, may not be permanent, or i may not hafta go at all if i can sell my video collection at half price. not sure, though, it's still up in the air. i looove it here, so i'll be pissed if i go.

on the occasion i must leave for a few months, do i have to delete my account, admins? or can i just leave and come back?

Let me guess...Comcast? That's what I have and the price is crazy. I won't get into how much my bill is each month. The bad thing is I think the rates are only going to go higher this year.

I'm not an admin or anything but I dont think you'll have to delete your account if the worst case scenario happens. I'm online in spurts because of traveling and other things so I dont get to this site to often. I've never had to delete my account or had any problems logging in after not being here for awhile.

Sorry to hear about it though, hope everything goes well. I'm sure you'll be able to sell those vids here.

ya i know! comcast, that's it, didn't know their coverage area, but god have mercy on their poor souls.

not to mention, since it's THEIR cable, like half of the commercials is for comcast. only reason i got cable internet was the first 6 months half price deal, which they shortened to $10 for the first 2 months.

ya, i'm telling my land lady to hold off, maybe she'll give me an I Owe U and pay this month's bill, since she's nice like that. but i'm thinking of other options, i'll probably cut out cable tv altogether before the internet goes, but who knows.

saw an ad today for comcast, and they had a package for all NBA games, like 7 channels of it like $109 a month, and i was like daaannng... that's expensive, feel bad for sports fans.

btw, i like your avatar, sweet looking, and the paris sig is funny too.

There is no need to delete your account. In fact, it isn't possible for anyone but TT to do it, and he never has. Even banned members' accounts are still around, just unusable. Plenty of people have to leave for various reasons, and if they ever get a chance to come back, their accounts are right here waiting for them.

oh ok, thanks. but as i said before, my tv will go before the net, so i should come through.

I've had my rounds with the cable companies too. I think I might know a solution...

satalite TV

Go with any of the satalite companies. For one thing, they can't have a monopoly. (Unless they get some James Bond type villian to shoot down their satalites.) :weird:

IMHO they give better service (more options) for the same money I'd spend on cable. I get all the normal channels you get with cable plus with my package I get multiple History/Discovery/Science channels and 10 premium movie channels for $50 a month. My cable company would have charged that much several years ago for a similar package. No telling what they'd charge now.

nah, satellite in my area has half the speed of cable and almost $100 a month, and i'm all about speed.

val, just like fat b*stard said in austin powers, "once you've had fat, you'll never go back." i'm used to cable, and dial up is like standing still. it's cable or nuthing, couldn't live with the frusteration. all cable owners know what i'm talking about.

Ah dude it would suck if you left...i may have only just got here but already i have noticed your presence.....seems to me like your cable company needs a swift kick in the bollocks.

$80 for JUST internet?! That's insane! I pay $45 for cable internet and that's too high as it is. Of course then my cable is like $60 for regular extended cable with no pay channels.

yeah, bondage knows what i'm talking about. Comcast has a monopoly and it's ridicoulouse.

so bad that to save me the net, i might just switch to satellite tv for just $40-$50 a month, instead of Comcast's $100 or so a month for tv.

noticed my presence? wow, here i thought i was just a face in the corner of the forums. it feels good to be recognized. AND THE SHY MAN SHALL RULE THE FORUMS.........errr ya.

Be wary of satellite internet. It has SERIOUS lag issues. IT doesn't really become apparent in a really big way until you try to do online gaming, but even with regular surfing, there is noticable lag. Think about it: In order to view a web page, you have to send a signal up to the satellite, then it sends it back down to the main processing center, then back up to the 'llite, then back down to you. All that time=lag. Then again, I believe some satellite providers simply use your phone line for their internet,

One thing to watch for: Internet from your power company. The technology exists, and is being developed for commercial use, to send internet over power lines. It doesn't go as fast as DSL or cable, only about 300-400 kbps, but that is still much faster than DSL, and you can get it anywhere that power is sent. Something to look forward to, eh?

as i mentioned earlier, i'm wary of the problems of satllelite net. it costs almost $100 and only a third of the speed of cable internet, so satelite internet sucks, i know. i meant satelite tv.
