A few retropics of mine.

First picture is vintage art, dating back to December 2003.
Among the earliest pieces of art I did under my current screen-name.
Original title: Zombies tickled my neighbour.
A reference to the arcade game, inspired by Dragonlance art, portraying Dragonlady Kitiara, crossing the Shoikan Grove, while undead grope her.

Second piece of art dates back to Jan 2004.
Original title: Tickle Tortured on the Elven Tree.
A bit newer, more crowded with characters, I tried a more complex re-colour work, reflecting how I originally envisioned the scene.
Background story revolved around a foiled coup.
Dark Elven assassins try to eliminate a powerful High Elven sorceress.
Foiled and captured, the Dark Elven spy finds out High Elven torture can be equally effective, without shedding a single drop of blood...

Nice sense of mood in both pictures! The arboreal setting is particularly handsome; lush and vibrant, with a soft touch that throws the foreground figures into effective relief and hints at photo-realism! "Zombies Tickled my Neighbor" has an altogether different tone, with its chill coloring and fantasy mistiness. I'm also well familiar with that one; somehow, "Tickle Tortured on the Elven Tree" had entirely escaped my notice before now! Most delighted with the update!

A reference to the arcade game? Is this "Zombies Ate My Neighbor" for the SNES we're talking about? I HATED that game!! Those damn chainsaw men... >_<;;

Still, awesome art! Not sure what it would be in artistic terms, but I really like your unique...coloring? That sort of highlight that's in your art, anyway. It sort of helps blend the contrast between your characters and the interesting backgrounds, yet not so much as to obscure them.

Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I'm inclined to say, you weren't familiar with this one either.

Haphazardous...?

😀

A Spectre from the Past.

When old "friends" come back for a laugh or two...

More for my Dark Fantasy series.
Really old sketch of mine - 1998-era - originally portraying a dark elven witch, being tickled by a rather harmless crudely stylised mist.
Redone with a few twists - including my earlier "Skullamos" avatar.

Visually more effective - and vaguely eerie too.

🙂

Quite right, I've never before seen these newest additions! A fine pair of bookends; the haze and ghostly transparency work to excellent effect! Light seeping in through the cell door nicely captures the clinging mustiness of an unscrubbed environment, though the elf lady herself glistens with unnatural accents… transferred sparks from the teasing strokes of otherworldly fingers! Company and entertainment… considering the setting, things could be worse!
