As a few of you know, I’ve strung together a fun little fiction series based on a young couple named Krista and Billy.
At first my stories had a definite foot centric hook, being that I wrote them back when I was a member of another forum.
When I decided to bring them here, I rewrote them to include some tickling, which worked out well enough.
After taking time away for life related things, I started re reading the series, and to be honest, I really missed the characters. I feel drawn to writing them again. And since returning, I’ve been able to tap out chapter after chapter with more ease than I imagined.
But I’m noticing something. I’ve felt the stories change as the characters develop. They’re obviously getting more comfortable with each other, and falling deeply in love. And while I certainly don’t have to force any scenes with tickling, I’ve noticed that the story is blossoming into something different.
At its core, this series is about a regular guy who crushes hard on a girl, but can’t bring himself to make a move because he’s so awestruck. Seeing her laugh from getting tickled awakens something in him, and he pursues a friendship. In a chance moment, she admits her feelings for him.
Okay enough, here’s where I get to the point.
I’m worried about this story becoming too big, for lack of better term, if every chapter starts to become more of a sweet love story and less of a tickle fest, is it still going to be welcome here? Or should I just pack it in and take it all somewhere else?
I’ll admit that I’m not exactly sure where this story is going, but I’m excited to find out. I hate to come off as a pretentious artist who takes his pen and goes home, but do I have any right to stop a story from becoming everything it should be?
