I have a shot at an apprenticeship that could have me doing professional artwork coming up in the next few months. To round out my portfolio a little, I drew this one this past weekend.

I know I'm typically known for my tk pics around here, but any (ANY) feedback on this pic that anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much.

Very detailed. You did a great job capturing the form and feel of a fairy. I especially like the detailed shading on the leaves on her chest. Excellent work man! You are improving with every single picture!

There are alot of proportion and anatomy issues and the coloring job, while beautiful, could use better blending of the colors, so theres no streaks or visible lines and more thoroughness in applying the color (so theres no white specks left from unapplied areas). Anything you could do to spruce this picture up would be worthwhile. If you're serious about getting that apprenticeship, you're going to have to do alot better than this (on average and consistantly). Of course this all depends on their individual standards and what exactly you'd be doing for them. Having no idea what they (whether "they" are a company, studio, or individual) expect from you, or what your qualifications would have to be, its hard to give you precise advice.

They may very well take your work as is, especially if they are a small company who is known for giving newcomers a chance regardless of the refinement (or lack thereof) of the applicant's work. If this is not the case, then any information you can give us about them or samples of people's work they have admitted before would be helpful in assessing where you are versus were you need to be in portfolio readiness. 🙂

First off, I love the picture. 😀 As a1543235b said, the shading is especially impressive. The picture overall is also a lot more detailed than your previous work (although your previous work is done in a more anime-like style, which would make it slightly simpler by default).

I can't offer very in-depth criticism, but from a layman's point of view, the only thing that I notice first that could maybe be worked on are a couple of proportion issues on the face.

But let me say again that overall, I love it. 😀 Extremely detailed and very colourful, and the shading gives it some impressive depth.
