There is a brief feather tickling scene in this Japanese period piece. Having run across quite a few of these brief scenes in Japanese films, I can state that they seem to utilize a little tickling before moving on to harsher tortures. Makes me wonder if that might not have been the case in a historical sense.
This scene in particular resonates with me because they spend some time teasing the upside-down lady around her neck/collar/chin, which are all awful spots for me personally.
Notice also the well-placed rope hanging down in the foreground to hide the actresses censurable bits in the first shot.
